I don't think that you know plenty of teachers because they do not get an easy ride through college. My college roommate got her BS in Mathematics to teach math in middle school. She worked just as hard as I did and had to go to school for an extra semester to fit in all of her requirements along with the student teaching. She is now going back to get her masters degree in Mathematics to further her career.
Either you are really, terribly clueless or just enjoy stiring the pot.

Kindergarten was not changed to full day to accommodate parents and child care costs.
Not according to the california board of education. I'll see if I can dig up the study again but the short of it was this... The quality of at home instruction by stay at home parents has (since 1970 or so) steadily declined to the point where kids entering pre-k and kindergarten now, are showing insufficient skillsets!!
i.e. Stay at home parents ain't what they used to be.

There are plenty of people that say being a Stay at Home Mommy is much easier than being a teacher. Super easy ride. Anyone can make their genitals work. What makes you so special?
