Gotta learn those slow turns :yay:

Want me to tell you how to do it?

Thought you would never ask.

You start out going straight, when you want to turn open the throttle a little more and ride the back brake, feather the clutch just a little. Start your turn and use varying pressure on the brake on-off, on-off and the clutch on-off, on -off, to keep your balance.

Easy Peasy

Pretty soon you will be whipping that thing around with no clutch, just throttle and brake.

Word of caution if you get a Harley or a V twin. They chug if you let the RPM get too low. Chugging going slow is bad, that is why you rev it up to a safe zone and use the clutch/brake to keep the bike slow.
I always seem to lurch when I hit the throttle. I don't have that down yet. I let it loose too quickly and, bam, I am heading for the curb. I think I am just too old to learn.

Get an old tennis ball and squeeze it to build up the strength in you hand so you can have more control with the clutch.

It just takes time. Your Rebel is a 1 cylinder isn't it? 1 cylinders spool up pretty quick. My V twin takes a second to get wound up. Just practise easing the roll of the throttle.

You are never too old to learn or too old to ride. One of my best memories is of my 70 plus year old grand dad riding down the road on my old 650 twin and my grandmother standing on the porch hollering at him. He hadn't ridden in probably 40 years and took off like he never stopped. I carry a picture of him in his Harley shirt in my wallet.
Keep on it, you will get the hang of it
