What is weird about this whole Saudi rape issue isn't that the woman was sentenced to lashings and jail time but normally rapists get sent to Chop-Chop square and are executed. Was it because the woman was a Shiite that they only received a minimal sentence?

...is the argument, that it IS at least partially her fault for being in a provocative situation. This is not some alien concept. A womans dress, what she did for a living, her marital status, being at a bar alone, being with a car load of males, all used to be considered in rape cases right here at home.
Aren't we glad we have evolved into a society which recognizes the crime of rape a crime against a person and not something where we criminalize the vicitim.

It would not surprise me one bit.

The Saudis didn't allow Iranians to make Mecca pilgrimages for years.

Hmm well 19 years ago the State Police made me take a polygraph. Rather than say they didn't have any leads or enough to track down my attacker, they called a 14 year old a liar and threatened to charge me will filing a false report. I wonder if my rape kit is still sitting on a shelf somewhere, because more likely than not modern DNA testing would match it to someone who has been thru the system. It would be worth pursuing just to demand an apology from that arogant detective.

What about the ones who like to be lashed?

They're usually the one's that like to get "raped" too. Just think: Some woman out there somewhere is reading this article and now needs a cigarrette, a bath and a change of clothes.

And for those without a sense of humor, masochistic or not, no one wants to be whipped for being raped, or even be truly raped for that matter. Well, not anyone with even a miniscule amount of sanity.

Shouldnt you make sure the organization you choose as "Proof" of attacks against Christianity doesnt have a history of protecting that religion? :lmao:

Seems they have a track record of defending all freedoms, which includes the Freedom of Religion, but i digress
I actually wasn't trying to "prove" them against Christianity, but against most moral standards (thus, the reference to NAMBLA). Their track record AGAINST Christians is certainly longer than their track record FOR, but that was a pretty good list.

And those on the far left that believe ANYTHING goes (ACLU defending NAMBLA, etc.). Larry's right, that's why it's good we have laws and a bulk of decent citizens to intervene.

NAMBLA and Butterfly Kisses are both legitimate orginizations that deserve to be protected under the constitution.
