Most cars here are diesel, but there are a lot of electric cars here compared to the US because the government gives perks such as free parking, free road rolls and a reduced tax rate. If your friend was in the city, chances are there were a lot more electric cars than in the countryside. We live in the north and distances are long, the climate is harsh and most of the time you are in the middle of nowhere with no charging stations.
