Wait. Aren't there "laws" against driving without car insurance?Agree 100%
Just got word that my car insurance premiums are going up because of the vast increase in uninsured accidents. I guess when times are tight, it is not cigarettes, alcohol, tattoos, or even driving better to conserve gas. It is "Hey.. need to save money. Let me lower my car insurance premiums or get rid of it all together and HOPE!"
Kinda like the laws against theft, child abuse, and murder? Laws like those??For your consideration ...

You could send me a few thousand each of Lapua 223 and 308 brass?Gives me a way to get rid of all that excess disposable income that I don't know what to do with.
Her response:I just sent a message to my cousin there to see if she and her husband are driving them.

I'm not surprised people in the more remote areas are still driving diesels. But the trend is amazing...Her response:
Hi Rose! No, we have a diesel VW. Most cars here are diesel, but there are a lot of electric cars here compared to the US because the government gives perks such as free parking, free road rolls and a reduced tax rate. If your friend was in the city, chances are there were a lot more electric cars than in the countryside. We live in the north and distances are long, the climate is harsh and most of the time you are in the middle of nowhere with no charging stations. We northerners are a little reluctant for good reason. Do you drive an ev?
electric vehicles accounted for 83.7% of all new vehicles registered in Norway in January, well ahead of the previous record, set in September 2021 with 77%, and well up on the 53% recorded for January 2021.
Glad it works for them.I'm not surprised people in the more remote areas are still driving diesels. But the trend is amazing...
My son and his wife both drive electric vehicles....son has owned two Teslas but now they have a small commuter car and a "soccer mom van" since two kids came along. ;-)
The cost of public charging has recently been bumped up but my son and wife seldom use those, charging at home.
I'd bet that folks back in the village where my son was raised (and others like it) are still driving lots of diesel and even a few gasoline vehicles.Glad it works for them.
My diesel truck gets about 12 mpg. My gas Bronco gets 8 mpg. Thank goodness for my '91 Toyota pickup truck...and I'm getting ready to break out the Harley; something I've never used before for anything but recreational riding.I ❤ my diesel. If I was driving either of my "trucks" I wouldn't be eating.
I did something really stupid just now. Really spur of the moment. I pre-ordered one of these:
Aptera Motors
Aptera is the world’s first Solar Electric Vehicle that requires no charging for most daily use - giving you the freedom to do more with less impact on the planet.aptera.us
It follows the same guidelines as the Slingshot, under 1700 pounds so it's an autocycle, registers as a motorcycle. If I'm going to get an electric vehicle, it's gotta have style and be fun.
My Sling is an autocycle, but I have a motorcycle reg. DMV hasn't gotten their act together yet. Some states have retro-issued new autocycle registrations, but not MD.Sure about the registration? I thought Maryland had an actual autocycle registration. Ah, here it is....

You Ridge merchants have a history of being price gougers. On my looooong commute home today from the farm, I noticed Ridge Market gas was $5.39! How bad are they screwing us? I saw $4.95 in the city this morning so wondering if city prices changed this afternoon.
