This has been discussed before. I believe it has to do with where the fuel get's shipped from. Ours come's from Richmond or Norfolk(something down there) and theirs get's shipped to Baltimore then distributed from there:Ithink:pizzalady said:Did anyone else notice the price diffrence from St. Mary's to Calvert? Me too. I remember when gas was 55 cents in the early '70s. I don't remember too many gas wars after the Arab oil boycott ended, when gas prices first began skyrocketing.Airgasm said:Hope they keep the gloves on!
I don't think I have ever seen that many words in one of your posts.CMC122 said:This has been discussed before. I believe it has to do with where the fuel get's shipped from. My unofficial opinion is that is simple robbery.CMC122 said:This has been discussed before. I believe it has to do with where the fuel get's shipped from. Ours come's from Richmond or Norfolk(something down there) and theirs get's shipped to Baltimore then distributed from there:Ithink:
I'm usually posting between doing this and that, it's just easier to use a smilie They say so muchAirgasm said:I don't think I have ever seen that many words in one of your posts.
I asked this question as well, as to why the prices were so different between Calvert and St. Mary's. The answer I got was because there are no Wa-Wa's or Sheetz in Calvert, because of the close relationship that the Gott Company has with Calvert County Government, so the chains have never been granted permits to build in Calvert, therefore, the Gott company can charge whatever they want as there is no True competition in gas prices.CMC122 said:This has been discussed before. Do you mean all gas chains or just Sheetz and Wawa? There are chain gas stations in Calvert, but few and far between, as far as I can tell, and they're usually co-located with a convenience store. I don't think Calvert has any Dash-Ins (which is a sister company to Southern Maryland Oil).girliegirl said:I asked this question as well, as to why the prices were so different between Calvert and St. Mary's. I beleive the information I was given was most gas chains that deal with "discount gas", have never been built, I have never really looked at all the gas stations in Calvert, but I only recall the ones run by Gott, or like you said one's associated with Convenience stores and they do not deal in "discount gas"....Tonio said:Do you mean all gas chains or just Sheetz and Wawa? A price difference is normal, but usually 10 - 15 cents a gallon. I NEVER buy gas on the other side of the bridge.. always fill up on my way to or form work.pizzalady said:Did anyone else notice the price diffrence from St. Mary's to Calvert? this could be possible as wellitsbob said:A price difference is normal, but usually 10 - 15 cents a gallon. I NEVER buy gas on the other side of the bridge.. always fill up on my way to or form work.
1.89 for Super at Shell on Tuesday. THink Calvert County has a higher gas tax
My officemate could be good competition for you in your gas war. According to him they don't stink, but he's wrong.Fruitcake Lady said:Gas wars? Is this thread about farting? I'd be willing to bet I could beat each and every one of you in a gas war.
Just don't hold that kind of "gas war" anywhere near the WaWa, or the whole place could be incinerated.Fruitcake Lady said:Gas wars? Is this thread about farting? I'd be willing to bet I could beat each and every one of you in a gas war.
