Interesting fact about Gavin Newsom. He pushed for, and got, an exemption to California's mandatory $20 per hour fast food workers minimum wage for establishments that make their own bread and sell it as a standalone item. Now that's a pretty specific exemption.
Now just who benefits from this very strange exemption? Well any establishment/bakery that makes bread, donuts, bagels is exempt. And that includes Panera Bread. Why is Panera Bread special? They're not, except that a man named Greg Flynn is the billionaire CEO of the Flynn Restaurant group. The Flynn Restaurant Group owns around two dozen Panera Bread restaurants in the state of California.
So who is Greg Flynn. Greg Flynn just happened to attend the same high school as Gavin Newsom and has donated large sums of money to Newsom's campaigns. Flynn lobbied Newsom to find a way that Panera Bread would not be considered fast food and thus be exempt from the legislation. The baking and selling your own bread accomplished that. The exception was granted because Newsom indicated that he would consider not signing the bill without it.

Well, to be fair, he became quite well known for his serial lying. He obviously can't help himself.

Bingo. The clown never had a real job in his entire life and, clearly, never could have succeeded at one anyway. The founders had this fond, but obviously misguided, hope that successful men of means with demonstrated accomplishments and experience would take some time out of their lives to serve in the US government in various capacities including all elected offices. Uncompensated except for expenses. For only a brief period of their lives, to then return to their private lives and businesses/holdings.
And now, instead, we have the parasites like Joe Biden. Biden personifies the "career parasite politician" that the founders were so worried would emerge. Of course they were also very, very concerned about the emergence of formally recognized factions - political parties. Yet here we are.
