GB is getting a state suicide service

Supporters of the bill argued that no one should have to endure a painful death, and that assisted suicide would bring dignity to death.

Tory Member of Parliament Danny Kruger, who led the opposition to the bill, said Parliament should do better for his nation's terminally ill people than to provide a "state suicide service," and that they should, instead, offer them safeguards, such as palliative care, as they face their final days.

I don't know what the law actually says but the Kruger dork who opposed it needs to butt out and mind his own business. There are a lot of people who choose to end their lives on their terms instead of bankrupting their family with worthless medical treatment while lingering on getting worse. If there's a nice easy way to do it instead of some bloody messy traumatic thing, I'm all for that.

I don't understand why some people have to get in everyone's business. We should have something like that in this country. No doubt there will be abuse because....humans. But death with dignity is important to me and if others want that as well I'm on their side. My grandfather decided to kill himself rather than become a vegetable and be a burden to his wife. He was the most considerate shotgun suicide you ever heard of, but it would have been better if he'd been able to just get a nice injection and go to sleep.

Probably have to get on a 6-month waiting list like they do for nearly every other medical procedure.

Besides, Canada already has a Medical Assistance In Dying (MAID) act, and it is part of the Commonwealth of GB.

and Sweden..... They have coffins you climb into and get gassed. Like "people" in the late 1930's-40's.

But this "service" should be available to the blue haired cross gendered offended and oppressed semi-humans in this Country.

I've always said if we have the right to put our pets down because we dont want them to suffer, we as humans should have the rights. I dont want to lie in a bed unaware of my surroundings being a burden to my daughters or other family members. Just give me a shot and let me go to sleep. Its humane for our pets, why not us.

Isn't HOSPICE a form of Assisted Suicide? Its been mentioned to me that they aren't as restricted with pain meds.

My wife and family would never agree to this happening to me, but if I am terminal I will make the decision and take care of the problem myself.

Not really. Those in hospice are already past the point of any hope, and aren't admitted to a hospice facility unit final days/hours. They medicate to alleviate pain only, counsel, and try to make the passing as dignified as possible for the patient and the family.

Same applies to in-home hospice.

My dad and our family went thru hospice a couple of years ago.

Close friend passed in hospice care here in the county almost one year ago. They really did a "good job", if I could put it that way, caring for him during his final days.
