Supporters of the bill argued that no one should have to endure a painful death, and that assisted suicide would bring dignity to death.
Tory Member of Parliament Danny Kruger, who led the opposition to the bill, said Parliament should do better for his nation's terminally ill people than to provide a "state suicide service," and that they should, instead, offer them safeguards, such as palliative care, as they face their final days.
I don't know what the law actually says but the Kruger dork who opposed it needs to butt out and mind his own business. There are a lot of people who choose to end their lives on their terms instead of bankrupting their family with worthless medical treatment while lingering on getting worse. If there's a nice easy way to do it instead of some bloody messy traumatic thing, I'm all for that.
I don't understand why some people have to get in everyone's business. We should have something like that in this country. No doubt there will be abuse because....humans. But death with dignity is important to me and if others want that as well I'm on their side. My grandfather decided to kill himself rather than become a vegetable and be a burden to his wife. He was the most considerate shotgun suicide you ever heard of, but it would have been better if he'd been able to just get a nice injection and go to sleep.
