.. and the majority of homes are still selling in < 30 days.. so I don't see a problem here.

The Days on Market shown are for sold homes. Not homes that are still on the market. Also, the system does not check for re-list.

I can't believe the prices of houses down there! Man, and I thought it was bad up here!!!

I just saw a 3BR beat to #### trailer in Mechanicsville going for - ready? - $150,000!!!!!

:faint:

This is actually rather inexpensive. You didn't mention how much property, but a lot with a trailer already has a well and septic installed. Perked lots in the north end of the county have seen prices over $220,000 and those folks need to add the well and septic. So this trailer sounds like a bargain for someone looking to build a home.

Trailer next door to us sold last year for $500,000+...................
but then again it sits on 4 acres of waterfront with a pier and 2 barns. New owners are working on permits for building a house.

Well we want the right area, house, neighborhood. I moved ALOT as a child, and now I want to buy something and stay there for along time. We're about to have our first child and want to buy something within the next year where we can stay for many years to come.

Honestly, you can't find too much for what you are paying without going way down into Saint Mary's or further. We were ready to buy last summer, and just never found what we wanted.

Yes I will. I already did 5 years there, it's not as bad as everyone says.
I kind of like the area, but housing prices there have been rising as well. Just not as bad as here, YET!

There's lots of nice areas. Ghent, Chesepeke, Suffolk, and Southern Va Beach. Even Portsmouth is making an effort to clean up.

That's good to hear, I loved it when I was a kid growing up there.
