Gold Wing...

...ok, so, 11,000 miles since I got my license, Haybusa, 5 different BMW's, Concours, 6 different FLHTCU's, an R6, Road Kings, a Screaming Eagle with ape hangers, having frozen every cell in my body several times on the Strat and now considering a Road Glide, it dawned on me;

What about a Wing?

HD's are pretty much out because I LOVE the hp and torque of my Strat. And I do love it in the summer with no shield. Until I take my helmet off in which case it BLOWS MY ears out. I got tinitis on the left for that one long day.

I love the way the Strat handles except at low, low speed where it gets and keeps my attention.

I want a frame mounted fairing, I think, thus the Road Glide. (And, GW!).

I want a lot of comfort for the little lady (cup holder, arm and back rests, make up mirror, ash tray, etc...)

I mean, the only thing, as of now, that I don't like about GW's is they are WAY too quiet. I don't need open pipes but, come on. I almost stepped in front of one in a parking lot!

I know that engine would probably make me happy and I know the handling is pretty good, too.

So, what of it?

Gold WIng? Are you THAT old?

You can get them with training wheels/ landing gear too!

I did sit on a GW at Atlantic Cycle.. Too many buttons for me, but overall a nice ride, nice performer.. But man it's a LOT of bike.

As far as Quiet? Do they sell aftermarket pipes for it?

But other than that, I'm waiting to take the NEW BMW touring bike out for a spin. Haven't even seen one yet (except pictures) but understand it is going to be a HOT ride.

K1600

That's in the running, too, if I can find a cup holder for the passenger.

Yes, aftermarket pipes available. I have Jardines on mine. Throaty without being loud. Interesting sound when you wind the motor up quickly.

Ok, going to qualify that.... I have an '89 1500, lots of aftermarket. I looked quickly at aftermarket for the 1800, was only finding replacement tips.

Check with Motovation. They'd know what's around...

And Ashtray??

Cycle gadgets will probably have them available before the bike hits the streets.

I think she'll be happier, riding position, on the back of a wing or full dress HD or even my bike than the 1600. I think?

I want a Multistrada for when she's stating home.

Doesn't matter which bike in the end, so take them for a test ride, take her with you, and buy the one she likes..

(you know in the end it won't be based on ride, but "This one is the prettiest", or "I'll look good on this one!!")

It worked for me!

1200s had issues with low end motor knock (as did the 1100), and an oil seepage which makes for cloud of smoke on startup, especially if it's been sitting on the sidestand.

Check it out carefully.

It was a joke. She is very thrifty!

Road Glide. :yay: I'm looking at a new Street Glide for this year. Had my 2000 Nightrain for about 4 years now. It's time for something I can cruise long distance with in a little more comfort.

at 5 mph in a parade.

not the best recommendation for a long distance tourer

?? Have you ever ridden a 'big Harley' long distances? I must say..of the many bikes I've owned, my FLHTC dresser was easily the most comfortable cruiser of them all.

Now that said, of course I know the Wings are plenty comfy too. I just have a softer spot in my head for Harleys.
