Power with Control
OPOM was originally designed for Ordnance. It included escalations for required items not funded that were not used for O&MN. If year 1 item not funded it can be escalated in priority for year 2 and year 3 so it would get funding. The jury is still out on the replacement apps. Can't say much more with CUI involved.
So is it easier or harder to use than OPOM? There were things I liked about OPOM, and things I didn't. I never did understand why it was inside an ordnance database, but it made sense to somebody, I guess.

So it's automatically better :)

Oh please, they want 5 brief points, not a freaking Masters thesis.
I'm pretty sure some of the guys I'm talking about don't even understand the concept of "bullet points". These are similar to the guys you admire for stuff like fixing your A/C, your car etc.

The guys who fix my car and my AC are pretty sharp. I'd bet money they know what bullet points are and can tell you immediately 5 things they did that week. Just because people fix things doesn't mean they're idiots. *ahem*

Some people just aren't writers, I know guys who work on machines that can barely send an email, but it has no bearing on their job performance.
I hear that....I used to make some decent money back in the day writing FitReps.....but like Vrai said, it's 5 bullet points...how did you get here if that's a struggle?

That doesn't mean they are idiots, I know some smart people that have never ever even used a computer in their entire life.

This is not really directly related to the DOGE stuff that's going on. It's related to 1099R forms.

I'm a retired FERS; my wife was retired CSRS.

From all the information I can't find on an internet or a youtube search, this has never happened in the history of ever. I'll explain why I've come to that somewhat tongue-in-cheek conclusion.

She left me a survivor annuity. It's not a huge amount, but in this day and age, it pays for me to eat out, and trust me: CD Cafe once a month is as fancy as it gets. Boomerangs or Green Turtle once a week is my budget.

I get a paper copy of my 1099R. There's nowhere on OPM where I can switch between her account, which I can access, and my account, which I cannot.

My tax preparer guy uses SmartVault so I can upload documents from the comfort of my command central in my jammies. Okay, sweat pants.

That would be okay, except for most of the 10 years I've had my Lenovo, I've never been able to scan documents and save them to my computer. You begin to see the problem.

It means that I have to drive into the next county to my tax guy's office, just to give them a copy of my 1099R. And upload my wife's 1099R to SmartVault.

The question I have, that even OPM (*cough*DEI*cough*) can't seem to answer is: do I have to create a separate account for myself, and if so, how do I do that?

So, clever and competent SMIBs: does anyone know the answer to the question?

Right now, I don't really care that much about the scanning issue. It only becomes an issue once a year; otherwise, I never have need to scan or print anything.

Found this -

Yes, if you need to manage multiple Services Online retirement accounts, you will need to create multiple login.gov accounts, and each login.gov account requires a unique email address.

Here's a more detailed explanation:

Multiple Accounts: If you have multiple retirement accounts, you'll need to create a separate login.gov account for each one.

Unique Email Addresses: Each login.gov account requires a unique email address.
Services Online: Services Online is the platform where you manage your retirement accounts.
Login.gov: You'll need to link your Services Online accounts to login.gov accounts.
How to manage:

Go to Services Online and click "Sign in with LOGIN.GOV".

Create a login.gov account if you don't have one.
Link your Services Online account to your login.gov account.
Repeat this process for each Services Online account.

my daughters told my wife she could use the camera on her phone to scan documents and send them on to them when they headed off to college.
