Because the entitled class think that the rules don’t apply to them. They did the same thing when I went to my sons graduation a few years back, it was quite upsetting when they would carry on for minutes and some families couldn’t hear or see their child walk because these imbeciles were jumping about like they just got their welfare check and it was larger than the last one.

I just wish they would escort everyone out who does that, after a few families get escorted I bet the problem would stop.

And Socki, glad to see that the only person who matters is you and you have no consideration for anyone else, as long as you can have your fun, everyone else be damned.

It's not a matter of simple cheering, it's acting like you are at the superbowl and your team just scored the game winning touchdown. They read those names so fast that they can't pause to wait for the animals to calm down, if they did, you would be there well past midnight. It's called consideration if others, something seriously lacking in todays society.

First of all, this does not just happen at GMHS AND from what I'm being told...it was NOT the "entitled class" that was making the noise. My friend's child graduated last night and she said that it was parents of football players that were WHITE...

Also, I'm kidding. While I really do not care if someone screamed or brought noisemakers, I am not going to be like that. But, I really do not see the point of bitching about it. The parents were proud and I really do not see any problem with it.

Skeet Skeet!

and anyone who was already afraid of clowns just :faint:ed

You :faint:ed at the thought of Socki, ummm with the clown? :lmao:

It happens at ALL school graduations and it's sad. There's no point in bitching about most things people bitch about, durr. And there's no problem in a parent being proud but when that proud parent takes away from another child and their proud parents moment because they can't seem to pull it together and shut the hell up, that's the problem.

All I know is that when I finally do get to cheer for my child as he/she graduates...I'll do it very loudly. Not just because of their accomplishment but also because it's one step closer to getting out of my house! :roflmao:

Please point out in my post where I said anything about race so don't interject your racism into something I said.

And just because YOU don't see anything wrong with it doesn't mean it's not wrong. Obviously you have never gone to one, missed hearing your child's name being called and/or seeing them because some people can't have the common decency to show a little respect to others. Like I said, I went to one and saw it, it wasn’t just clapping and cheering, it was like they were at a basketball game and their little darling just scored the winning basket, it was downright embarrassing.

Again, glad to see the world revolves around you and only you, and that you have the corner market on what can be “bitched” about.

Oh excuse me, I took the "entitled class" comment wrong.

Yes, the world revolved around ME. :diva:

Every graduation it happens. I've seen (heard) it from whites, blacks, and hispanics (the Asians seem to be the quietest). I've heard cowbells (CHS classic) and air horns even though both are prohibited at the events. In the past I've attended graduations for every high school in St Marys and two in Charles including private school. No one is ever escorted out - that sounds suspiciously like work.

No one is going to magically change their personality and act differently just because they should. Do you know loud families that have a kid graduating? Then expect the volume to be high. I know the names being called for the three before my kid so I expect "loud".

When you see the faculty cheering you know they're glad to get rid of the kid. :coffee:

Go for it, be as loud as you want...just shut the hell up so the next family has the same courtesy of hearing their son or daughters name :yay: and if you weren't given that courtesy, then shame on that ignorant family :yay:

I meant that I'll cheer him/her on when it is fit. If we are told that we cannot cheer them on until after everyone has gone through, then that's when I'll cheer. However, if we are told that we can cheer after they receive their diploma then I'll cheer then. But, I will not have any noisemakers with me. That's just truly not my style.

I know and I think people should cheer loudly, let's their son/daughter know where their family is sitting so maybe they can look up at them and have their picture taken

I still think those with noisemakers should be escorted out

No, you took it they way you wanted to take it, a way to try to make me look like a racist and to make yourself look morally superior.:coffee:

And as far as the world revolving around your, the first thing to overcoming a issue is to first admit it, glad to see you are on the right track.

Went to GMHS graduation at St. Marys College last night. Why is it that some families act so crazy when their kids name is called? Screaming and hooting like they just hit the powerball. I'm all for being proud and supporting your kid but some folks get carried away. Some old guy even had a damn cowbell he kept beating on. Heard a few air horns too.

I think I may have sustained some hearing loss.

==========================================================

You know what they say - "Need more cowbell!!"

Dont fear the reaper with some cowbell - YouTube
