Looking at the list…. I have a good question, WHY DIDN’T O.J. MAKE THE LIST????

That's the exact same question I had after coming to the realization that the list has nothing to do with "greatness" and everything to do with name recognition.

I'll say it again...Discovery should be asamed.

Went to the Discovery site for this show, couldn’t find anywhere what the criteria is for being the “Greatest American” ? Phone call votes suggests popularity at most :shrug:

If you click on the tab called "What Makes a Winner?", you get a list of "categories"...
Actors and Directors, Athletes, Business Leaders, Celebrities, Champions of Causes, Heros and Icons, Musicians, Political Figures, Presidents, and Scientists.

How many celebrities, heros, and icons are there that are not included in the other groups? They seem like some redundant categories.
