Greatest bass lines in modern music

The bass line isn't the riff that every kid learns how to play when they first pick up a guitar - duh duh duh, duh duh duhduh, duh duh duh, duhduhduh - but the part that comes in about 30 secs into the song, after the lead and the drums are established.

Right? Or no?

Nope. The first was the best. Iron Maiden; Iron Maiden.

Eddie reminds me of Nick Nolte's mugshot in that one.

Not bad... but not the best IMO. No bloody hatchet - no nothing. Just standing on a street corner looking like a scarecrow doing his O-face.

This is cover is number two;

Again, not bad... but not my favorite.

I'd put Number of the Beast above that one. (which I rate at #2 after Killers)

Then Killers! :buddies:

To each their own... Killers ranks among the best all-time album covers for me. Not just Iron Maiden covers... but ALL album covers by all artists.

Even above The Fame by Gaga.

There.
I said it.

We Lady Gaga fans need a support group. It isn't fair that we have to suffer alone, ashamed to admit that we like music that rocks (even if the rocking is done in a classically pop-ey kind of a way).

Does the concept of 'contradiction in terms' mean anything to you?

That which does not rock...can not.
