Now, da Boom is royally TICKED off (and ticked is spelled with a P and a couple of esses....

Just came from Giant. Went for the purpose of doing some food-buying. Spent only $4 and some change. I refuse to pay what they're asking.
Prices have taken a great leap upward; way upward.

My, what timing. I do wonder if it has anything to do with the new real estate assessments? Hmmm?

Giant, Shame on you!!! Just because the county has decided every homeowner is now rich, doesn't mean you have to play the game, too.
How far can social security be stretched? Or, is that what the county is hoping for....get all the old foofs outta here, then we can sock the new owners. Does Giant own the county or does the county own Giant?

Maybe it has to do with the cost of oil going up per barrel and skyrocketing the price of gas... everyone feels the increase increase in gas prices... either weekly filling the tank, getting fuel oil for heat, or even paying it indirectly through delivery costs to your local food store... the truckers that deliver the food should not have to eat the brunt of the increase in gas to deliver goods to the store

I shop at Giant and don't have a problem with the prices.
I must make more than you.

Giant isn't the only food store. I've always thought their prices were outrageous.

:yeahthat: Even with the "Bonus Card" I don't notice a significant amount in savings. I like their meats, but prefer Food Lion (even though it's beyond ghetto) for basic needs. :peace:

I've noticed it at walmart and other stores that have goods delivered to them other than grocery stores... that's why I thought it was the cost of oil per barrell making the price go up... I thought it was to compensate for higher gas prices to get the finisished product from A to B.

Would someone splain to me what "grocery shopping" is?
It that thing you were supposed to be doing at Food Lion instead of using pick up lines and at McKays instead of aiming your cart. :really:

I go there to stock up on bottled water, shampoo, toothpaste & stuff before school starts......usually, my mom goes to the commissary once a week for the grocery shopping, but not everyone has that option.

I love Safeway. I haven't been to the McKays in Charolette Hall but if it's not clean with good meat and produce I will commute to Waldorf to go to Safeway. Cleanliness and quality are more important then price to me. :yay:
