I go there to stock up on bottled water, shampoo, toothpaste & stuff before school starts......usually, my mom goes to the commissary once a week for the grocery shopping, but not everyone has that option.

Umm, why doesn't mom get you that stuff at the commissary?

I buy anything I can at BJs or Wal-Mart, and do grocery shopping at Food Liggidy Lion or SFW. I still watch the sale ads for Giant, though, b/c they have some great deals from time to time - especially on soda.

most of it does come from the commissary, but my dad suggested BJ's to see what the prices were like......a bottle of shampoo from there will last forever :yay:

......
Commisary for most groceries, but BJ's for bulk items and some meat. Beef tenderloin is great! Nick's in Clinton for steaks, grd beef, chicken breasts, and sausage.

Maybe it has to do with the cost of oil going up per barrel and skyrocketing the price of gas...

Don't I know about the price of gas. :ohwell: We came from a house w/oil back-up heat, but we were on the plan where you pay the same amount per month all year 'round to avoid getting stuck with enormous winter bills. I think it was around $75/month for the oil bill, which wasn't bad. We cook with gas here, and have gas back-up heat. WEeeeelllllll, the only time you can sign up for the 'pay the same amount each month based on yearly estimations, etc...' is in June. We moved here at the end of September, so we'll have to wait until June to sign up. For the past 3 mos. my gas bills have been between $430-$530. :yikes: :faint:  :ohwell:

I think our gas bill will end up being around $200 monthly, which is still high, but it's way better to pay that each month as opposed to these enormous bills we have now since we aren't on that plan yet.

Good Lord, L. Your gas bills are way too high. I just had mine filled this morning, the first time since I had the gas fireplace installed in mid-October. I use it pretty much as my full-time heat. I have a 100 gallon tank, and the cost to fill it this morning was $205 - not bad for 3+ months of use. [Disclaimer: I tend to keep my home on the cool side]. Now I need to find a way to trim my electric bill even more. I did manage to cut $30 dollars from the January bill from December's absurdly high bill.

Fuel delivery for where I live so far has been two trips at 800.00 a visit -- once in October and again this past January.

I chose my grocery vendor based on the musak they play over the speakers. SFW rocks :yay: They had on Fleetwood Mac the other day.

Speaking of leaks...You might want to do a leak test on your furnace. It involves a lit cigarette.
