CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Students and parents at Charlotte Catholic High School are speaking out after they say a campus lecturer forcefully condemned homosexuality with outdated statistics, prejudiced stereotypes and other extremist claims.

“Then she started talking about how gays [sic] people are gay because they have an absent father figure, and therefore they have not received the masculinity they should have from their father,” reads one student’s account of the message. “Also a guy could be gay if he masterbates [sic] and so he thinks he is being turned on by other guys. And then she gave an example of one of her gay ‘friends’ who said he used to go to a shed with his friends and watch porn and thats why he was gay. … Then she talked about the statistic where gay men have had either over 500 or 1000 sexual partners and after that I got up and went to the bathroom because I should not have had to been subject to that extremely offensive talk.”

“She brought up an abusive Australian couple that was gay and they abused their child, portraying to us that gay people are unfit parents,” he said. “She also said that gay people can become gay because of masturbation or pornography or because they don’t spend enough time with their father because their parents are divorced.”

Parents may not speak for the church officially, but they are the church in person, are they not? Don't worry, you're not the only church dealing with members folding in the face societal pressure to embrace evil as something good.

Unfortunately I take no solace in that. The late 60's, all of the 70's, and early 80's took a toll on the Catholic Church--in bad priests, feminist nuns, and kumbaya flock. We are recovering and seminaries are full and most important full of young orthodox Catholic men.

I do take solace in the fact that dogma has not changed...not many can say that!

Since when does homosexuality need reasons? The law is on their side now, and it can be just because they say it can be. Or not. Or whatever new situation comes along.

If people would just get that three letter word that starts with "g" out of their vocabulary, homosexuality would be what it always is and has been - homosexuality. I fear there is pretty much an entire generation that has no idea of what "g--" really means, along with the physical attributes necessary by the practitioners to be what they are.

Ain't nothing gay about the homosexual community - man sticking it to man or going down on man, and women lapping up women. It is what it is.

Agree? That they are, or could be? Again, why not? Show science that proves otherwise.

Show science that declares homosexuals are such by birth, then there is no reason why homosexuals cannot be such by their own accord, based on the same science as this "instructor".
