Catholics preach that the usage of condoms and contraception is 'sinful' to the unfortunate people in this part of the world, resulting in the deaths of many more, including children born with AIDS, than would otherwise be the case. Ironic that they offer assistance to the dying there, while creating more death and human misery through the proselytizing of Catholicism.

I was unaware that Catholics ruled the world, especially sub-Saharan Africa, and controlled what people did. Just because the Catholic Church says you cannot use condoms (and I don't believe they even say this anymore) doesn't mean you have to listen to them. PS, Catholics are also against pre-marital sex, but I notice that little decree falls on deaf ears and people manage to ignore it just fine.

Regarding, pedophiliac priests, that was my assumption as well but I think the Vatican just received more criticism lately that they are still hiding these priests and have not done enough to defrock all such priests.

I would think parents would be the final defense of their priest butt raping their child. In the information age it's unlikely some pedo priest would be moved to a new parish without everyone in the community knowing about it within minutes.

I'm happy to see we are in agreement at least on something. It would be great if someone would start some threads for serious discussion, like say the problem of pedophile priests in the Catholic church and whether the church is doing enough about it - or - the discouragement of birth control in sub-Saharan Africa contributing to millions more deaths from Aids. But maybe the current events forum would be better for this.

While you're at it could you also start a thread addressing the rampant Atheism found in NAMBLA and what you and your fellow Atheists are doing about it? Feel free to put it in the current events section.

Pedophilia and homosexuality are two different things and it annoys me when someone equates the two or thinks if you are one you must also be the other.

If you can point me to the hierarchy and the atheist equivalent to the Vatican I'll give you an answer.. or at least point us the local atheist leader that had the NAMBLA member reassigned instead of reporting him to the authorities.. yeah.. I think you can see the significant differences.. and issues with your "analogy"

I wasn't making an analogy, but even so, are you saying that because there is no Vatican-type organizational equivalent in Atheism that you are going to dismiss the correlation between Atheism and NAMBLA?
