Guys Prefer Average Chicks over Hot ones

There is one other factor - hot chicks are too much pressure. You always have to be on top of your game, or at least it feels that way. There are always other guys staring, flirting, trying to pick her up. Giving a dozen roses today means that tomorrow you have to top it.

Maybe it's a bit of laziness. We perceive that a more average woman is more willing to accept a guy for what he is, flaws and all. We don't feel like we need to be constantly fighting to defend our turf.

So yes, we all like to fantasize about the hot ones, and some guys are shallow enough to only consider looks - just like some women do. But as we get older we learn to appreciate the total package - looks, personality, large inheritance coming, etc. Most of those hot fantasy chicks come with a lot of baggage that we would not want to deal with. We only want them in the bedroom. We don't want them to raise our children, help maintain the house, or be a partner in a relationship. They're like owning a BMW Roadster - sure it's nice to look at, and a blast to drive, but in the end it just isn't very useful.

I will absolutely go for that and it makes perfect sense (for sensible men).

However, can you understand that when men drool over an unattainable hot celebrity, it would send the message to women that this is the ideal? Then there are the rude comments about average women - their cankles, their weight, their less than perfect face. So we constantly see men praising hot and disparaging average. What are we supposed to think?

And let me point out that there is no such thing as an average looking trophy wife. She's not a trophy because she's smart, or kind, or generous; she is a trophy because she's physically beautiful.

Women drool too. My wifes jaw hit the floor when she saw some of the guys from Thunder Down Under show in vegas. They made me look like a tub of lard.

It's not just men. You see women all the time talking about beer bellies, baldness, and hair in places it shouldn't be. You don't see women drooling over Danny DeVito. Women send the same message to men - if you don't have six pack abs, a chiseled jaw, and a full head of hair you are substandard.

I'm not saying either is wrong or right, but it is a human thing and not a man/woman thing. Women do it just as much and as bad as men, especially if they don't realize a man can hear them.

I don't think it's fair to bring the trophy wife into this since it's not the norm. Sure, the middle aged rich guy only gets her because she's hot, but the only reason she's with him is because he has money. Both reasons are shallow, but in reality they are the same reason. They are both status symbols.

You don't get a trophy in order to hide it in a closet and keep it to yourself. You display it to show others that you are superior. Same thing with a trophy wife - it's not about having a hot wife for yourself, it's about going to parties, dinners, and events with her on your arm. Looks are the only thing that matters in that case.

Likewise, I don't believe that the trophy wives have a desire to wear overly expensive clothes that are actually uncomfortable, they just want to be seen in those clothes as a status symbol, and they're willing to marry someone less than attractive to do it.

Not true. I don't like skinny or ripped men. I like men with meat on their bones. Then again, I've plumped out and would feel odd with a skinny dude. It's a self esteem issue maybe. Also, I'll take personality over looks any day!

Do you like apples?
Which brings us back to that long time debate: Mary Ann or Ginger?

The girl next door has always rocked the world.

It all depends on the mood.

"Innocent" GND is always a great way to go. (Mary Ann) :dye:
Of course, you know what they say about redheads... (Ginger) :hot:

But then again, no one ever included the island's ultra cougar (Mrs Howell) in the debate. Apparently some young guys are into that (for the $, right?) :killingme

In My Opinion
I never found Ginger attractive enough to really pay attention to.
Maryanne on the other hand was hot.

Mrs howel??? really? damn

Hey, dude... You are FAR prettier than I am. You're screwed. :coffee:

And probably on a pretty frequent basis too....

I like looking at very pretty drop-dead gorgeous women, but have no real desire to be with one. I much prefer the girl who looks pretty naturally, without all the makeup and fancy clothes, and that's not usually the actresses or models. Ever see those very non-flattering pics of them without makeup? They gots the oooglies.

and personally, I'm WAY past worrying about what I look like to some hottie. It ain't gonna happen anyway, so why get ramped up about it?

I generally find what people call 'hot' girls to be meh. They are usually just hot garbage with bad attitudes and worse personalities. What people call 'average' girls are what I like.

Men do not prefer average - that's just all they can get unless they're Brad Pitt.

Except that most men are average, based on the definition of "average".

Despite their egos, they're fairly aware of that fact.

I don't know if men PREFER average, or wouldn't want to nail a hot woman, but when it comes to day to day interaction, they're more comfortable with one their own speed.

This reminds me. I have 2 have guyfriends that have been single for YEARS. Neither are exactly physically attractive. Both are very smart and both have great senses of humor. Both are also gainfully employed. Their biggest problem with that one is a "2" and the other maybe a "2.5", but both go after "9s or 10s".

How to you friendly tell them to lower their standards and they just might have a shot at atleast getting laid occasionally?

You don't. It won't work.

Up until about my mid twenties, I considered myself about a 3 or 4. I went after the 9's and 10's because I had nothing to lose. I was used to being turned down by 10's, but it's kind of a bummer to be turned down by a 2.

I've offered to hook one of them up with a few nice girls that I knew. He laughed and told me that he'd rather not do the whole matchmaking thing, BUT he'll constantly ask me about hot girls on my FB page. He b!tches constantly about needing companionship. He's asked where he can meet women. I've suggested a few places. He then b!tches about not having the time to go out. I then call him an askhole.
