How to you friendly tell them to lower their standards and they just might have a shot at atleast getting laid occasionally?

First, don't call it lowering your standards. That implies they are settling for second best, which isn't really true.

Second, until they get tired of old Rosey Palm and her five sisters there's little you can do or say.

You could tell them that they're being too picky. The women aren't the problem, the guys are. They need to be reminded that it's their unrealistc expectations that need to be overcome.

Whether they are 6'4" with washboard abs and tree trunks for arms, or they are built like, say, Danny Devito; whether they have perfectly cut and combed hair, or a little "sunshine" on the roof and a ponytail; and could stand to lose a few lb's, like me, it's mostly, partly about self confidence.

While I prob'ly won't go up to the long-legged, short, tight skirt-wearing blonde/brunette; or whatever your idea of a "10" is; and engage her in conversation, there are those of us who will; and get summarily shot down; and it doesn't bother them. They just go on to the next one.

This reminds me. I have 2 have guyfriends that have been single for YEARS. Neither are exactly physically attractive. Both are very smart and both have great senses of humor.
