Half-smokes

My husband and were talking about putting something on the grill this weekend, I told him I would love a good, grilled half-smoke. Where in the hell can you find half-smokes anymore? When I grew up in Clinton, there was a store named B.K. Miller's and he sold them. I believe the old Mattinglys IGA in Leonardtown used to sell them. Now I cant find them anywhere.

I bought some half smokes from B. K. Miller's. They aren't the good old Briggs half smokes that I remember. Good luck finding something that comes close and if you do, please let me know.

Quite a few places stoped selling Briggs Half Smokes a few years back over poor quality control. Nicks used to sell Briggs and they went to a different company.

Am definitely going to try them. I don't shop Giant very often but once in a while, I give them a shot.

Went to Giant yesterday and got two packages of them. Putting on the grill today. I'll let you know how they are. Also, just an fyi, they are located in the deli department in a refrigerated case, close to the pre-made pasta.

They are good you won't be disappointed! Which did you get hot or mild or both? I love them both.

My husband liked them. I didn't look close enough at the package and picked up the "Spicy" ones by mistake. I dont do spicy foods well and this was too spicy for me to eat. Besides the spice, it would have been a decent half-smoke. So, if anybody wants a package of Bens Chili Bowl Half-smokes Spicy (4 in a pack) let me know, i wont be using the 2nd pack I bought.

Do you know if they're anything like the old Briggs Halfsmokes? I haven't had a good halfsmoke since their plant shut down. I inhaled them as a teenager. I may be interested. I've never seen them in the low end stores that I shop at.

Thank you! A definite road trip in my future. I bought a case of half smokes from BK Miller only to be sadly disappointed. They weren't just totally under seasoned, they were bland. They weren't even as good as a hotdogs.

I think our pup is going to get them mixed with her regular food. What complete waste of time, gas, and money.

They were advertised as, "The closest thing to the old Briggs half smoke!"

Maybe if you're smoking crack!

The package labels says packaged by Mangers. I hope the use a proprietary recipe. I've tried Mangers and not a fan. I'll give them a call before heading that way.
