Hallmark closing in San Souci

I think Roses and Jamesway failed because they were too expensive for the Family Dollar customer and too cheap for the Wal-Mart customer. Those stores made Wal-Mart seem like Nordstrom's in comparison. I haven't seen a Roses for ages--there was one in Pocomoke City but it closed a couple of years after the one in Wildewood.

Lexington Park HAS to be the worst, California comes close too. I have yet to step foot in the Solomons one. Bleh! Food Lion's and Walmart's are like a woman on Great Mills Rd., cheap, dirty and spreading it like there's no tomorrow.
I went to the Solomon's Food Lion for the first time yesterday. I have to say it was pretty nice and probably one of the best I've seen. I hear the one in Callaway is nice. FL in the park is G - H - E - T - T - O!

I love Hallmark, they have a good selection of cards, yankee candles, and you get coupons when you use your hallmark card. In fact, I need to go ASAP to stock up some b-day cards! :diva:
I can't even afford Hallmark cards on my salary; I have to travel to Waldorf and buy them from Factory Card Outlet.

:huggy: it was the gold crown sticker, wasn't it?
:lmao: I was actually impressed that she used the sticker! I always throw them away with the bag. So I can put monkey stickers on the back instead. :blushing:

I don't think I'll miss the Hallmark unless the other one closes, too. They're an easy out when, at Christmas time, you're out of ideas for someone's gifts but still need to give them something with a little class. I liked some of their figurines (the Old Salt series they once had - my mother collects them, and some of the Harley-Davidson stuff and the trains and the lighthouses) and I like the Yankee candles a lot. I like their Norman Rockwell prints and some of their seascapes. And some of their cards are great (I liked their Shoebox Greetings and Far Side stuff the best). But overall, in my opinion Hallmark is a place to buy overpriced stuff that is soon sold off at yard sales.

:nono: See, everyone has something mean to say about Hallmark until it's time for their birthdays!
I didn't say anything bad about it

I get all my cards there.

Imagine how I feel... we're getting another Food Lion here in southern Calvert. :boo:

I would rather see a Safeway put in Lusby then another Food lion. :dead:

I happen to miss Ames. My laundry detergent and my kids mattress covers were always bought there. I always went on Old Folks Day...With my Grammy to get an extra 15% off!! :lmao:

Rose's and Jamesway were aweful, and LP does need a department store.. But I won't shop there.. I refuse to go to the FL in the square after three "girls" threatened to kick me butt while I was on the payphone with my Ex asking if we needed dog food.
That is what prompted me to get a cell phone.. I had my daughter in my arms! Needless to say, anything east of Chancellors Run Rd. can KMA!

OH yeah!! An hallmark sucks too.. I have boycotted them since I went in there looking for the Jelly Belly's and ended up buy two Bunco games at 75% off because I could't resist the little box it came in..
