I have seen multiple times were accidents almost occured with the overly cautious people that pulled over and came to a complete stop almost causing accidents trying to get back on the road.
It's the goobers following behind the ambulance not allowing the other cars back on the road so they can get on or two car laengths ahead that are the problem there.

All good points, however, I have on more than one occasion seen a fire engine honking repeatedly until cars pulled out into the intersection against the light to get out of their way. Last time was last week at 235 and Chancellors. I wondered at the time why the light didn't change for the fire engines.

Not all fire departments purchase the equipment to change the lights, my department doesn't, wish they did.
Sure would help when we run all our calls to St. Mary's. :smack:

today

going down route 4, there is an emergency vehicle going down the road, lights and sirens going, and people act as if it isn't there. GET THE HELL OUT OF THE WAY! it's really not that hard.

yeah, there is no reason to completely stop, just pull to the side, maybe slow 5-10 mph to allow it to pass and continue driving.

At the same time, I have seen people who trail the Ambulance to get down the road fast nearly cause accidents when people in front of the Ambulance try to get out of its way.
