If Heaven is the absolute best thing you can think of, and Hell is the absolute worst, what would be your Heaven and Hell?

Eternal Life.....

And that would be my hell. I want to be young in my Heaven. I want my Heaven to contain all of the people that I love and have always hoped to meet. Hell would be where my ex is going. I'd like to hope that I've been a decent enough person to end up in Heaven.

But, I'm not so sure that I believe in Heaven and Hell. I guess there's only one way to find out...

Eternal Life.....
outliving all your family and friends.,, no way to properly plan for retirement.
not sure eternal life here on earth would be Heaven.

of course, if you refer to eternal life with God after you die from earth, then thats a totally different story.

See, but what if you are supposed to be in someone's "hell". What if someone in your 'heaven' is in the "hell" of someone else in your 'heaven', what then? Hmmmm?

Ok I am not trying to turn this into a religious discussion because it is not what it was meant to be but I have to say this. You can not make it into Heaven by your actions and works alone. There is only one way to make it into Heaven. If you are not sure of a Heaven and Hell and you think there is only one way to find out, you will find that out you are correct. If you wait until that point though it will then be too late to make the decision to be able to make it into Heaven.

Does the entry fee have anything to do with the banana in your avatar? :eyebrow:

Okay.

Heaven: Pebble Beach

Hell: Knowing where I'm going to be and what I'm going to be doing tomorrow. (There are a few limited conditions under which this would not be hell - such as if I was going to be at Pebble Beach tomorrow.)

Heaven would be a lot like the beach in Destin, FL. I'm not talking about the whole vacation deal. I'm talking about the feel of the beach, the color of the water and the radiance of the sun on your body, just before it becomes too muggy an environment.

Or even the Outer Banks. Something about the beach and ocean and waves soothe me.

Music would fill my ears and I would surely dance!

And in my Heaven, I would surely have this family with me, in spirit I suppose.

And if it IS Heaven, my Heaven, I'd indulge in delicious foods and extravagant attire and I think I'd make life a social (not unlike an upper echelon) affair.

:rambling:

And Hell, well Hell feels a little too close for comfort right now. :notfeelingwell:

But I think Hell would not be unlike standing in the customer service line during the holidays at WalMart. :boo:

Ooo...well, I like your Heaven too. I wasn't descriptive on exactly what the environment would be, but the beach gets a :yay: from me.
and  at the coincidence between our Hells

Right. If Vera wanted it to be a religious discussion, she would have put it in the Religion forum instead of here in the....

Oh, never mind.

This thread proves it

They say everybody wants to go to Heaven; they just don’t want God to be there when they get there.

Not one person said they wanted to spend Eternity with there Lord and King, worshiping and serving him, giving him the honor and glory and praise, for his mercy and kindness and amazing grace that he so richly deserves.

Romans 6:23, For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord

Romans 5:8, "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,
Eph 2:9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

2Co 6:2 For he says, "In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you." Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

Joh 3:3 Jesus replied, "I tell you for certain that you must be born from above before you can see God's kingdom!"

Is Christ Lord of your life?

The nature of Christ's salvation is woefully misrepresented by the present-day evangelist. He announces a Savior from hell rather than a Savior from sin. And that is why so many are fatally deceived, for there are multitudes who wish to escape the Lake of Fire who have no desire to be delivered from their carnality and worldliness." AW Pink

Many do not recognize the fact as they ought, that Satan has got men fast asleep in sin and that it is his great device to keep them so. He does not care what we do if he can do that.
We may sing songs about the sweet by and by, preach sermons and say prayers until doomsday, and he will never concern himself about us, if we don't wake anybody up. But if we awake the sleeping sinner he will gnash on us with his teeth. This is our work -to wake people up."

If you have to go and put it that way, then well I guess I reflect your first remark.
