Ok I am not trying to turn this into a religious discussion because it is not what it was meant to be but I have to say this. You can not make it into Heaven by your actions and works alone. There is only one way to make it into Heaven. If you are not sure of a Heaven and Hell and you think there is only one way to find out, you will find that out you are correct. If you wait until that point though it will then be too late to make the decision to be able to make it into Heaven.

IF there is a heaven, I'm sure it will be much like the life we made for ourselves here.

It will be what you make of it. If you're miserable now, you'll be miserable there too.

Just imagine, the life you have now for all eternity. Personally, I'm OK with that.

People can also make your life a living hell and you have no control over that. You know you can be happy as a pig in mud and all of a sudden some azz just craps on your day? Misery loves company? I think we should have segregation.

Heaven: Being granted unlimited time with no pressures to enjoy those I love (alive and deceased).

Hell: Having to come back and do it again while constantly being yelled at for things I didn't do.

What is it that you want me to say? This is at least the second time you have quoted this and said something about it. Do you want me to argue my point because if you do your not going to get it from me.

You say there is only one way into heaven. What way is that?

What's the point? You don't believe in a heaven or hell anyway.

Because the theists here have different and conflicting answers - I wanted to see which side the other theists here stand on. Just don't reply to the thread if you can't answer, it's simple really.

There's also different and conflicting answers to black holes and how matter is affected; different and conflicting answers on whether the universe is expanding or contracting; different and conflicting answers about global warming. We've been through this so many times. With things we can't see, touch, etc... we have to use tools or theories to justify their existence. I can no more prove to you the existence of God than you can prove to me the existence of black holes. I chose to believe the evidence of life and it's definite and consistent construction throughout time as well as word-of-mouth through the millennia. You chose to believe science to explain everything that is unseen. Neither are more proof and anything than the other. It boils down to faith.

If people have that much control over your life, you need to get rid of those people, or make drastic life changes so they don't have that kind of control over your life.

Nobody has control over your happiness but you.

I've got a picture of a black hole, do you have a picture of God?

So, no opinion on the question then?

I disagree!!! A LOT!!! People have a daily affect on your life, whether you want to admit to it or not. The only drastic changes a person can make to be happy is to avoid people all together and that cannot be done. It just can't happen because there are way too many other factors that play a major role with your feelings, like lonliness.

People may have some effect on your life but it's how you handle it that determines your happiness. Just like the lunatics that sit on their computers with tin foil hats on, typing a bunch of annoying nonsense. Then when someone says something to them, they flip out and have their accounts deleted.
