I don't think that will happen. :shrug:BS Gal said:I think they are sending Red.Glad I got on their nerves. Maybe they'll kick it up a notch next storm and try to live up to T-Bone and Heather.
BS Gal said:They suck. I really, really tried to give them a chance, but after this weekend, NOT. They totally failed us.
BS Gal said:I got nothing about what was going on here. That REALLY pissed me off. There was NO reporting on the outages.
Hey, MM, do you finally have power? It took them like 10 minutes to turn ours on. Amazing.
qbee817 said:I remember T-Bone and Heather reporting during bad weather emergencies when the radio station had power. They reporting the entire evening after the tornado in LaPlata, and many times when we were under tornado warnings, etc. I had no power, but I listened to them on a battery radio and they were reporting where funnel clouds were sighted, to take cover, etc. This was during the asfternoon and evening hours. They were there reporting flooded roads, where funnel clouds had been sited, etc. Whether they reported back to the station or not, I don't know, but THEY WERE reporting what was going on.
All I heard Friday afternoon was a repeated tape. Very frustrating since I was at work and can't pick up anything on the radio but 98.3, 102.9 and 97.7. I finally gave up on 98.3 and turned to 97.7 to at least hear some decent music, knowing I was not going to hear any news reports for our area.
Several weeks ago, I received the "test" emergency notification call from the county commissioners at home and at work. I sure didn't get one Friday when there was an actual state of emergency put into effect. That's not going to work anyway if your power and telephone lines are laying in the road. We need some type of communication from the radio. We're sh*t out of luck if we get struck by terrorists.

I am not sure who owns the radio station but I hope they read the forums because after a while people will stop listening and if they are not listening then who is listening to the commercials on the radio? I hate that commercial that say’s we love you more than your Mp3 player….ummm not!
Take some of that money you are earning and manage the freaking station! Other radio stations seem to be able to do it so try. OR better yet, PM me and I will manage the freaking station. At least then we will have up to date news and traffic and information that people need when they need it.

FireBrand said:Probably the only time that T-Bone and Heather stayed on late.
I think they lived in Charles county in or around LaPlata.
They were probably happy to be in a safe and warm and fuzzy St. Mary's studio that evening, until the funnel cloud passed by.
Anyhow, never a consistent service to the community.
I agree that we would be shiat out of luck in a terrorist situation.
SOMAR needs to take their responsibilites more serious as being a member of
a community between Washington DC and Patuxent River NAS !!!!
