There’s a sign taped to the door that says, “The city council feels it is at their best interset to infringe upon your personal constitutional right and feel they can manage your life better than you. We will not do this…we will not force you to wear a mask!”

“All are welcome and we appreciate your supporting local,” the sign adds. I went Saturday morning with my family and we had to wait for a table; we ran into an old friend while we were there. That same day, we went to the downtown farmers’ market. Vendors offered free samples and sold fresh produce, a live musician sang “Folsom Prison Blues,” and no one told me to wear a mask.

Oh crap St Mary's is in that exclusion list. That sure flies in the face of the emails that get sent out warning us about violating it.

There are exceptions to a lot of the things they say in those e-mails. Because the e-mails are drafted at the highest levels and passed down, and the people lower down don't want to make changes or interpretations. No one ever got fired for passing along a message exactly as they were told (well, fewer people anyways).

 :yahoo: :smoochy:

where COVID-19 restrictions are much freer and usually left to local government

The local buttheads are the problem in Texas. SPI is progville because of the entertainers and art community, so they're all freaking about the rona because their MSNBC gods told them to and the Democrats they voted to rule them are enjoying the power. New Braunfels, on the other hand, is largely living their normal lives with minimal invasion.

In Branson the overlords are trying to lock down the town and destroy it, and the citizens are giving them the old yuck foo and doing as they please.

So there is hope for us and still some patriots left in this country.

They call me ... Sarcasmo
I walked by a bar last night that was packed to the gills. People were walking around without masks, laughing talking and not social distancing, it was a downright superspreader event.

Not a single SMCHD nor SMCSO deputy was in sight. 😕

It’s ok that they do that now because the Health Dept completely stopped local COVID infections by closing Ridge Hardware. It’s a fawking Christmas miracle.

Na, the probably just didnt post about it on the internet along with their intentions to ignore it.

I see, so it's okay to have dozens if not hundreds of maskless people in a small space, but not okay to have one or two in a larger space....because of posting on the internet.

Makes sense.

Never said so, but as mentioned by TPD his lawyer advised him to shut up and that his mouth gets him in trouble, which it did.

Right or wrong he is closed. I wonder if his employees that didnt wear masks are happy about not having a job right now and I'm guessing not getting paid right now.

I have about 800 analogies rolling around in my head right now.

Only TPD can make decisions that are right for him, his business, and his employees, and I can't speak for him. But I do know that the reason we knuckle under to tyranny is because it's easier that way in the short term. They make it painful if we don't. People in power have always done that to the powerless - like, always throughout history. It's human nature.

And while the rebels are going, "Bitch, you can't do that" and demanding their rights, there are always - like, always throughout history - those who cower on the sidelines going, "You should have just done what they said."

Right is right and wrong is wrong. It doesn't matter if you talk about it or stay silent - they still remain right and wrong. And what was it that Thomas Jefferson said...? Oh yes:

"All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent."

Merry Christmas.

It's always about possible cost vs possible consequences vs possible reward.

In the end the only one I see benefiting is his lawyer, that is usually the case.
