Help! Devil Cat!

Yeah...

She's a good kitty. :smack: She just needs to learn. We'll go the clippers route first and keep up with trying to get her interested in the scratch pad. If that doesn't work, I'll have her body parts ripped out.

...sure, smack me like I'm the one reducing the house to a pile of shavings.
You go ahead and put band aids on the problem, show her who's boss. I can't wait until she clogs the toilet with clippers and squirt guns.

I would...

Or, she'll wrestle it away from mommy and chase her around the house squirting her.

...expect her to just sit on a corner and wait for her to come along and then get her. I'll bet Claudia is all in favor of squirt guns in half measures as well.

:sarcasm:

I have five cats now. (I know...) But they do not claw up my furniture, etc. If you simply trim the claws regularly, it removes the part of the claw that hooks into things and does the damage and reduces their desire to claw at things. They're only self trimming their nails. I trim the front and back claws.

Squirt gun.

You all laugh but this works for our cat - especially around the holidays when there are so many extra things around the house to climb & destroy! When she sees us pick up the spray bottle she runs out of the room. We don't even need to actually spray her any longer.

Vrai, I wanna come over and watch when you trim her nails. You should probably wear protective clothing and gloves.

She was very used to having her nails trimmed. He brother and sister sit calmly in my lap to have their nails done.

Oh, that's right! I forgot they have been "cattitude-ized." My cat wouldn't tolerate it. He barely tolerates petting, which is how he got the name "Slash."

I can vouch for this, when Pugsley (Rascal to Catt & Ott) was here, I was able to trim his claws with no trouble. He just sat there. He was such a good boy, too bad he kept pooping in my kids tub. :ohwell:

You know, he's never done that since he's been back. I think one of the other kitties was scaring him or something.

Better than on the carpet.

I would agree with that, but it was my poor old man that had to clean the mess cause it would a) make me :barf: and b) I am slightly disabled :dork: and I am not able to get on my knees to clean the tub.

So, since it wasn't me having to do all the cleaning I had to listen to the man when he asked me to return the cat.

I agree! I think it had a lot to do with the fact that I have 3 males here already and he was used to being with girls. I don't know, we do miss him though :frown:

Get a 4' wood step ladder. She'll have a ball climbing and sitting on it & will sharpen claws on it too. If she ignores it, just act like you need to climb it and you'll be crowded in no time.

That's a great idea. You should paint them with little kitty designs, make some little toy attachments and market them as some new-fangled kitty furniture. Maybe you could get out of that long commute. Let me know if you need a business partner.

No because I'm scared I'll clip her toe off. That's on my list of things to do today - go get some cat nail clippers and straighten that evil kitty out.

I keep Timon's nails trimmed but it doesn't seem to help. He has taken over one spot on our couch and another on our big comfy chair. I'll get him declawed one day - and definitely before we buy new furniture.
