What's the best way to get from Reagan airport to BWI? Shuttle? Metro? Rent a car?

Short version:

American Airlines stranded me in Chicago overnight. They will NOT be returning me to BWI, where my car is parked and where I was ticketed to return, but to Reagan. They claim they have no flights that go to BWI until Thursday, and I'm not staying in this outrageously expensive hotel room another day.

So what's the best way to get to BWI from Reagan? Any suggestions?

I would tell them they will be paying for my rental car to get BACK to my car. Or paying for my hotel bill. Since it is their screw up

Metro doesn't go there...shuttle?..not sure if there is one....maybe rent a car.

I can't believe the airline won't help you.

They have already informed me that they will not be paying for ANYTHING and that I can piss up a rope.

If they lose customers because of their ineptitude, they'll just ask Bush for a financial bailout, that they will surely receive.

Which is probably true. Who are you talking too, the girls at the gate? Or someone at a 1800#?

Rental Car is probably going to be your best bet. I don't think you another option.

Non-refundable ticket? Is there any flight that comes into BWI on another airline? Might be cheaper and less headache.

if I recall correctly, there is a shuttle. I would definitely recommend that. then again I can't stand driving in DC, so I avoid it at all costs.

They wouldn't even give me my luggage so I could have my toothbrush, contact lens stuff and a change of clothes.

The general attitude among all personnel I spoke to was "GFY".

Vrai...$71.00...I can make reservations for you if you'd like. That would be the shuttle picking you up at Reagan and taking you to BWI.

$7.35 in fares if you take the yellow line from the airport to Gallery Place/Chinatown and transfer to the red line to get you the last bit to Union Station and then pick up the MARC Penn Line train to BWI.

She is dragging a weeks worth of luggage, (for a female = 4 suit cases) and souveniers from vacation (for a female = 1 suitcase)

Hire a homeless dude or "undocumented immigrant" to carry her luggage on the metro for her. The Conductor on the train will help with it for free. Still cheaper than $71.00 (plus tip).
