I take it you aren't coming on Saturday night. :huggy:
I have to see how comfortable I am with how far I'll be with these reports and if I do attend it will have to be after 10. You guys should be at Catamaran's by then, right?

It's because that's what the other kids listen to; he's got learning disabilities and wants to fit in (I guess the two don't necessarily go hand in hand - you can want to fit in w/o learning disabilities - it's just a lot more difficult for him). I'm not that fond of rap but some of the stuff is pretty good - I like some of what I've heard of Black Eyed Peas, I like most of Will Smith, I loved MC Hammer's stuff, it's the gangsta stuff I want to avoid. Besides isn't it a rite of passage that you're supposed to hate the music your child likes? BTY how's your nephew? Going okay I hope?

Black Eyed Peas NO NO NO!!!

From my hump (talkin bout how big a girls ass is) & dont f*ck with my heart i suggest you stick with rappers who aren't so vulgar like Will smith.

And instill in him that liking a certain type of music wont make him fit in with the crowd...it may make things worse for him.

My nephew is just as bad, made his mom lose her job because of his bad behavior she has no one that can watch him. She has to go to the school board to get him back into pre-k. I blame her though...she doesn't watch him or take the time and that makes his behavioral problems even worse. i should make a new thread about it...i came home from work and found my room ransacked and stuff that was high on a dresser he had gotten his hands on. i was LIVID!!!

Qurious - He's 14 w/learning disabilities fitting in is important to him besides I have no doubt his taste will change and change and change. I feel so badly for all of you with your nephews problems (that includes him). Kids are tough enough but it sounds as if there are deeper problems. Did you call anyone for help? Look for a Kyle Bishop at Saint Mary's something or other, one of the government departments. She's a case worker and can point you in the right direction. I'll try and dig up the number this weekend.

Dixie, Just looked at Best Buy down here. They have a small decent reggae section. I picked up a Barrington Levy CD today that is really good.

...I said he's mildly retarded, autistic spectrum, and he doesn't really know...

I know I probably get some red for butting in but I have to share that just as he knows he loves you (which he does know) he knows what he likes in other things, like food, people, and music. He may not be able to explain it totally, but I believe he knows what makes him wanna get his groove on  JIMO

Naaaahhh, no red, you're not butting in. You're probably right, whenever we go near electronics in a store, he digs through the music like he's looking for something specific but he comes up emptyhanded (one word two words???) unless it's 50 cents which brings us full circle doesn't it? He doesn't communicate well, part of it is the disabilities, part of it is the 14 year old, rebel I hate my mother thing. good weekend to you!
