If I may ...
Both are racist and offensive. And if you want to be exactly like the people you despise, rock on with your bad self. Just own it.
It's like white people think they should be able to call black people the n-word because illiterate ignorant black rappers do it. I'm like, go ahead. Then you can be an illiterate ignorant ass, too.
"Both are racist and offensive." Maybe in your mind, in your thinking. Why do you have space in the warehouse of your mind dedicated cataloging what you think are offensive words? Both? Are just words. I've never been offended when called whitey, or honky, casper, or cracker. Etc.. They all pretty much describe me in some fashion. Except may be cracker, since I'm not crispy, well, maybe when I'm in the sun for too long. When I hear those words? I just go with the flow. Maybe if black folk had heard of the phrase, "Stick and stones ...." growing up more, they would stop finding offence in a word. I've been around extremely rude, nasty, arrogant, self-important, condescending, name (word) calling, black people, many many many times. And you know what? I think nothing of it. I carry on and make sure I never see them again, of course. Who would want to hang around people like that? Same standard for white people, or any other race.
And not sure where, "And if you want to be exactly like the people you despise ...", comes from. I do not despise black, or any color, of people. I despise the actions, the mind set, the never ending victim hood, of people, of any color, or race. Now get this. I use the word niqqer from time to time, in like company. Sometimes as a pejorative, but most often as a descriptive. Not excessively. Not to shock. Same for those I'm speaking with. Same for negro. Now you and I both know, there are two different kinds of black people, word wise. Just as there are different words used for white people. Asian people. Arab people. Etc.. Now. If I think or say aloud niqqer, intended as a pejorative, it is because a black person has proven to me by some action or by what they say, that they are not a regular, well adapted, level headed, educated, member of society as the rest of us are. It's like calling them mothereffer, or an ass-hole. Just as I would call an ignorant white person an effing hillbilly pejoratively, under the same standards. You, I believe, are seeking utopia. That's cool. So has human kind for hundreds of thousand of years. If a person takes offence at a word, (got their feelings hurt), absent any physical harm? Then that person needs to reevaluate themselves. Maybe buy a self-help book on building self-esteem.
