meetup has a mid-atlantic hiking club that does some hikes and kayaking in the So. Md. area. It's free to join and sometimes they have car pools. I haven't gone on any hikes yet, but they sound really good.

I would like to meet other people and may possibly start one. Will post it when I have an activity this will include babies, kids, teens and young adults(college age). Mine are 15 and 10.

I think hiking with a large crowd kind of defeats the purpose. Just me I guess.

Let me know when you do! I have an 11 year old to drag along from time to time.

If they are male children, at 11 years old, they can be a Boy Scout and most troops go on hikes, among lots of other activities.

If female, I am not sure about local girl scout troops (do they hike?), but if they are 13 & completed 8th grade they can join a Venture Crew (co-ed Boy Scout group from 13-21) and do lots of high adventure type outings.
