Something can be done. I can be armed and shooting back.
They cannot pass a law that will do away with guns, there are too many of them and Americans are not going to give theirs up., But they can pass a law allowing me to defend myself and others in a situation like this.

B, I think allowing for a reasonable time for mourning to take place before jumping into political discussions on the topic. It may send the message that “thoughts and prayers” sent are sincere.
Can't take issue with that. My issues are with the predictable appearance of the hand-wringers "OMG we must DO something!!" and anti-2A opportunists after every tragedy like this one. The former never have even a tidbit of concrete suggestion to offer and the latter simply want all firearms banned and confiscated.

Well that is just it. You are making the assumption, that all democrats want to attack the Second Amendment. You would be surprised at how many democrats love their guns. I am a libertarian, where do you think I stand on the issue? I am talking about showing sincere respect and reverence for the dead and the bereaved. Just saying.

B, I understand the concern. There will always be knee jerkers. But the law of reciprocity has to be in place here. Obviously nothing will work for the unreasonable. But for the reasonable , if respect and reverence over these tragedies are shown, then maybe they will be more apt to listen. Keep in mind that there are plenty of non Republicans are pro 2nd Amendment.
