Historian says now it’s just a question of when and how you’ll be impacted by a mass shooting

B, I understand the concern. There will always be knee jerkers. But the law of reciprocity has to be in place here. Obviously nothing will work for the unreasonable. But for the reasonable , if respect and reverence over these tragedies are shown, then maybe they will be more apt to listen. Keep in mind that there are plenty of non Republicans are pro 2nd Amendment.
Yeah...good luck with that.

@Kyle , nice empathy for little kids.
@bill A person with an emotional level of a five year old may not appreciate it. Outburst no. Maturity and empathy , you bet.
What has a teacher using a tragedy, halfway across the country, for a day off from work have to do with empathy for little kids?

Please show your work.

You will never eliminate guns from those who want them. Criminals/mentally unstable will always find one. Gun laws only prevent honest citizens from having them.

Make a school, or other venue, a 'gun free zone', and you've just given the advantage to the criminal intent on destruction. They know there will be little-to-no resistance.

Arm teachers? Not a fan of that. Nearly all of the teachers I had in school were simply not capable of handling a gun, let alone shoot someone. Can't imagine any of them doing the right thing in the right way when confronted.

Trained and armed security? Better, but still not a great environment for kids.

More proactive scanning for people that announce their intentions? If facebook/twitter can ban someone within minutes of a post, they have the capability.

It would be perfect if everyone who is terrified of covid and mass shooters would hole up in their homes and never leave them. Think how awesome traffic would be.

Or better Move to Australia - Gun Bans and Covid Lock Downs

The grossly overblown media hyping drowns out the simple fact that such events are, in fact, exceedingly rare.

Newstards do that - overblow the rare and ignore the everyday. They go insane over extremely rare school shootings, yet completely ignore the violence and death that happen every single day in our urban areas.

I had a couple that were, most were not, one even accidently shot someone's goat on the first day of deer season.

Well, I shouldn't say all. My 8th grade science teacher was also the school's Rifle Team instructor. But the majority of teachers probably shouldn't have a gun.
Geographical location matters. My niece is a crack shot, and also the biology teacher at a high school in rural southern VA. A high school that has a rifle range and a competition rifle team that competes against other local high schools with rifle ranges and rifle teams. But those are not the schools the media would ever talk about.

because of rampant crime - gang banger's are making mass shootings a daily or multi daily event

School Shootings like Tx are VERY RARE .... teens beefing over social media posts shooting there class mates in and out of High School are more common and involving hand guns and are black in black crimes Progressives don't care about

There were teachers who feared teaching kids in a classroom over covid. No way would they touch a gun.
