Headed out this weekend on the Harley to visit Waterford Va ..its their annual festival weekend and my very first time there. If you care to open the link below and scroll down, the Griffith/Grover house...Samuel Gover was my GG Grandfather. The Govers owned a huge swath of land from Patuxent to Chesapeake across and including what is now Dunkirk, as a land grant they took possession of in 1650. (Ferry Landing Rd was originally "Govers Ferry Rd" for example) But for various reasons...mostly political...many of them buggered off to Waterford.

Some years ago I restored the broken undercarriage for the old swivel/reclining chair my GG Grandfather Samuel Gover used as the postmaster. That and his original desk were donated by my family to the Waterford Trust and are on display there. Looking forward to seeing all that for the first time.
