Last year I was doing some Bushhogging and thought my tractor was about to blow up. Then out of nowhere popped this jet screaming by at treetop level.I swear the pilot was so close to me I could identify him.

Its the sound of Freedom, if it frightened you think of how it frightens terrorists in Iraq, I hope they crap their pants when these jets go by.

Let 'er go boys, Just be safe.

I love jet noise, too, but the seldom fly over my house. We get helicopters all day and night, which is cool, but I just love a jet. You can re-route them over my house any day. I grew up in Cherry Pt, NC and they were constantly overhead and then I lived in Chesapeake, VA and the F-18s and F-14s from Oceana and Fentress were constantly overhead and I couldn't get enough of it. I miss it.

Don't forget the beautiful A-6's and EA-6B's :huggy:

Also P-3's are so big and lumbering, they are almost like a ballet in the sky....

Did anyone else hear/see/feel that military aircraft go over? It scared the CRAP out of me it was SO low! They aren't allowed to fly that low at this time are they? Any ideas what's going on?

Sorry

I AM an enigma
When I was little (many moons ago) one of my neighbors was having a picnic and a jet came screaming over our houses LOW and FAST! Anyway...the biatch calls the CO of the base to complain....His response??.....

"Lady, if I were you I'd get down on my knees and thank the good Lord that they are ours!"

Most excellent!

I love em now but didn't when I worked night shift and slept in dorms near the end of the runway.

Ever hear a pair of F-4 Phantoms taking off in full afterburner?? (yes I just dated myself) :ohwell:

I was on duty, (Not here in Pax) with a H53 Helo out. Got a call in the duty office from some irate farmer that our flight testing was disturbing his cows.

I said Helo? Must be US Air Force, not Navy. He took it line and sinker and was going to call the USAF.

Then a week later the H53 set down in a K-Mart parking lot for a oil leak. So I had the crew go into the K-Mart, and buy some black spray paint and paint over the Navy letters on the bird. The news then said it was a Air Force Helo down.

Some one remind me never to fly in a H53.

I used to live with the flightline in our backyard in Hawaii- who ever thought I'd miss THAT! Sounds exciting to me! :patriot: It was like having our own personal air show everyday. Hubby laughs at me because I can name so many planes now just by the sound they make. :lmao:

I could do that when I was a kid living in hollywood/lexington park. can't quite manage it anymore. when we bought our house, the realtor said he'd never had anyone else say they were happy to be in the flight path.

I was a back seater on the ES-3A, Shadow.
Loved that A/C, and I can't believe the Navy retired them.

You mean they've finally done it? They've finally got those things tuned to the resonant frequency of the human rectal orifice?

Gosh, gee, that means all we've gotta do is fly over enemy territory and their whole army will be afflicted with uncontrollable anal seepage and they won't be able to make it to the rest room in time, so then our ground troops can rush in with portable laundromats and offer laundry service at premium prices.

Wasn't that during the T-storm?? A plane left as the storm was approaching PAX to outrun it, and came back under the clouds when the strom was leaving.
