Now that you have the clothes down... does he know how to do the various dance moves... including “freaking,” “juke dancing,” and grinding? The Nebraska Educators are recommending you check out youtube.com should you need more info...:yay:

As seen here, the letter informs parents that, “YouTube.com can help you become familiar with these terms if you so desire.”

Nebraska Educators Issue Grinding Alert In Advance Of High School Homecoming Dance | The Smoking Gun

"Juke dancing" :yikes:

Somehow, I'm slightly jealous that I can't do these moves :killingme

So its a Yes to corsages??? Last year, my son said hardly any girls had corsages. The kids said that was a "prom thing". Do we order one for his date?

And what about buttonieres (sp?). Should my daughter have one for her date?

I say yes to corsages and to boutineers. I mean, have I been out of school for THAT long that this is out of the norm now or what? We always had them for all the dances...homecoming, winter formal, prom

dress shirt, dress pants, tie. I am pretty sure I got corsages to homecomings (but maybe only when it was my current boyfriend, i forget). Now I think they are nonsense, I'd rather have some I could have put in a vase.

I agree, they did sorta get in the way BUT what if he doesn't get a corsage and you're the only one (in your group) without one? Ohhhh the stress of being a teenager

Get a wrist corsage. Knew some parents of girls would buy one and keep hidden in the refrigerator. If the boy showed up without one, mom would distract the girl and dad would hand it to the boy. Sometimes they could tell by watching the boy come up the walk if he was carrying anything and if not dad would be waiting at the door while girl was still 'getting ready' with mom. Of course it would match her dress beautifully!

Well definitely a wrist corsage

That's so cute that the parents would do that...didn't want their girl left out :awwh:
