Hooter's

SmallTown

Football season!
I have seen Hooters restaurants in other places besides resort areas

Hooters is just good clean fun.. You see A LOT more T&A at the pool or beach, so I don't see the argument there.. And people who say it just exploits woman.. Well, they don't force people to work there.. The women themselves go to them and apply. Back home I knew of one of the girls who worked at one.. And considering the car she drove, I assume they get pretty nice tips.. I would rather have some hot girl working at a restaurant showing her butt cheeks then I would seeing some nasty slob standing in the welfare line.

And in all honesty, the wings are not all that..

But that is just my opinion

if you will
Well, being a guy, I wouldn't mind a Hooters down here. But honestly, I agree that their food sucks. Sure, I like bewbies as much as the next guy, but I'd rather have a nice brewpub that had good food too. I like chicken wings, and the Hooters wings are lame.

Always thirsty
Go to any Hooters, like the Ocean City one, and you'd be surprised at the amount of families that you see come in to eat. I frequent the Ocean City one all the time and every manager or worker in there says they aim to be a family restaurant. Maybe people just want to be able to say they ate at a hooters.

And the wings at Hooters don't suck, it's the sauce that sucks. I get them "naked" with no sauce and they're just fried. That's fine. Keep that greasy sauce off my wings.

I'm waiting for them to bring a male only serving restaurant to the area. I think the name should be Edited by Admin - Princess, I'm going to beat you! They must wear the same outfit as the HOOTER'S girls.

Having a Hooters down here would be great fun. They have them other places that are not resort areas, like Rockville and Frederickburg. I hope this is not just a rumor.

Only downside to Hooters I have experienced is all the noise. Music, TVs on, bad acustics. Maybe that has more to do with me becoming an old geezer than the restaurant.

Their competition could all learn from the customer service ethic. Service there is always friendly and polite. Their detractors always focus on the young girls in skimpy outfits, maybe they should pay attention to their hard work.

It is always comical to hear some of the sanctimonious posturing: "No self respecting ((insert one,) family man, church goer, weasel polisher) would ever go to Hooters."
Little tiresome to be judged by the narrow minded.

As I recall, about 5 years ago, Hooters required a $3.5 million net worth to consider a franchisee. I forget how much liquidity you needed to proceed. I'd be real skeptical about someone making that kind of investment in Lexington Park for a Hooters. Maybe Waldorf, where you have a bigger population to draw from.

My guess is that this is the old rumor with a new set of legs. Probably the same person who thinks the sniper is coming to St. Mary's County to tag someone at our Michaels to complete a pentagram. (Duh!)

"The plane, boss, The Plane!!"
I do not wish to throw cold water on the subject, but is this Hooters move to Sou Md, someone's idle imagination or is there anything to back it up? Nodnarb has a point(no pun intended) about liquidity needed for it to proceed. But also think about how much the local area has undergone a truly tremendous change. Where we once had open fields, vacant lots just wallowing infinitum, we've now finally got some good restaurants cropping up, businesses are moving in, growth all around us. Are we ready for a Hooters? Are we ready to go "upscale"? WOW! What's gonna happen to good 'ol Southern Maryland?

Many moons ago I frequented the Classics 3 night club strictly to see the men's "packages". Imagine my surprise when I found out that quite a few of the male dancers didn't date females. What a let down.

Here's why you can put the Hooters rumor to bed:

Hooters U.S. Franchising Opportunites

United States
Currently, Hooters of America has franchise opportunities in the following U.S. Territories:

Maine, Vermont, Wyoming, Montana, Oregon, Idaho, and South Dakota

If you are interested in one of the territories listed above, our qualifications are as follows:
Ability to develop 3-5 restaurants in the territory.
$3 million in liquid assets.
A restaurant location with at least 100,000 - 150,000 people within a five-mile radius.
At least 5 years as a multi-unit restaurant owner / operator
Initial Investment:
Franchise fee of $75,000 per location.
Up front option deposit of $10,000 for each additional location.
The initial investment is estimated to be $600,000 to $1,000,000 for each restaurant.

Snow Shovel, I hope I wasn't coming across as sanctimonious. I thought I was poking fun at other men who act hypocritical.

Now, I'm a married man. If I see a beautiful woman walking down the street, of course I'm going to take a look at her. That certainly doesn't mean that I'm going to actually do anything with her. That kind of thing is incidental. We can't help but see attractive people out on the street.

That's a whole different thing from wanting to go to a restaurant where the waitresses are the main course.

That doesnt necessarly mean that there needs to be 100,000 people within 5 miles of a hooters. Charleston WV has a hooters and the entire city's population is only 85,000.

And I really doubt any of these states listed have any place with 100,000 in a 5 mile radius.

Maine, Vermont, Wyoming, Montana, Oregon, Idaho, and South Dakota

Hell Wyoming only has 800,000 people in the entire state!

I believe it came from their website, the ignorance of people never ceases to amaze me. Maybe its no wonder there are no Hooters in those states and maybe they dont realize that their requirements vs their desires make no sense.

You've lost me... I have no idea where you're going with this. Maybe you should email Hooters and tell them they're stupid for wanting to expand into rural states, and instead they should locate in Lexington Park.

First of all, there must be a typo on the Hooter's website. There are very few places that have 100,000 - 150,000 people within a 5-mile radius. And definitely not in most of the states they're trying to expand into.

Second, I love Hooter's and I'm a woman. We had our girl weekend in VA Beach and our drinking joint of choice was Hooter's. The waitresses there were as sweet as they could be, not to mention very attractive. They took turns sitting with us and we had a ball. Call me shallow but sometimes even I like to have beautiful, stacked young women serving my food and drinks. A nice change from the unattractive, surly gals that usually wait tables. We bought t-shirts for our husbands and the girls all signed them - we encouraged them to be as outrageous in their comments as they wanted.

I would go with my husband to Hooter's in a heartbeat. It was fun. And I'd have no problem if he and the guys went to ogle, as long as they didn't act like pigs and make the waitresses feel bad.
