ABC's Rosie O'Donnell told a nationwide audience this week that "radical Christians" are the same as radical Muslims who piloted hijacked jetliners into New York's Twin Towers, who chop off the heads of individuals and who bomb innocent children in suicide attacks. O'Donnell made her comments as host of ABC's "The View."

"Radical Christianity is just as threatening as radical Islam in a country like America where we have separation of church and state," O'Donnell said. She had been saying that America was attacked "not by a nation." She continued: "And as a result of the attack and the killing of 3,000 innocent people, we invaded two countries and killed innocent people." Even her liberal co-hosts were shocked by her comments.

Co-host Joy Behar protested that Christians are not trying to impose mass murder on America. "This group (radical Muslims) is threatening to kill us." Replied O'Donn ell: "No, but we are bombing innocent people in other countries. True or false?"

O'Donnell was saying there is no difference between the radical Muslims who kill in the name of Allah and Bible-believing Christians who follow the teachings of Jesus.

Neither O'Donnell nor ABC apologized for the comments. Had she made similar comments about minorities or homosexuals, there would have been an apology, and she would have probably been fired.

The message from ABC is that bashing Christians is acceptable, even comparing them with murderers who kill in the name of Allah.

I can only assume she's so self centerd that she believes that criticism of her homosexual life stye is a crime as horrrendous as the murder of 3000 people.

She is without a doubt a Hollywood Liberal whom can not comprehend what "war" means.

I loved Rosie in the movies, but her opinions mean as much to me as The Dixie Chicks. :ohwell:

Rosie, eh, :shrug: I care as much about her opinion as say, how well her last bowel movement went. :dead:

UNFORTUNATELY, people (nameless and countless who are fans) will tack on to her ideas and possibly adopt them as their own.

She can be a funny actress and is entitled to an opinion. However, some folks should just keep personal politics from being too far imbedded into a daily talk show aimed at discussion of day-to-day topics and humor...

Maybe the answer is to send her over to the Middle East to live and breathe the war like so many of our servicemen and women are doing.

She may change her opinion once she is over there and experiences the daily stress of not knowing from one minute to the next whether the vehicle your riding in is not going to be blown up just because you're an AMERICAN. :mad: :burning:

Different faiths throughout history have used faith as an excuse for war. Are American Christians currently engaged in a "holy war"? No. Are extremist Muslims currently engaged in a "holy war"? So they say. All American forces (which is made of people of many faiths as well as those that follow no beliefs) are doing is responding to the threat made by those extremist Muslims.

Rosie is dead wrong.

Christians, and even more specifically American Christians, did not call for this war and are not running this war. There are American Christians (of varied disciplines) engaged in this war - but it is not holy to them, it is not a faith driven war.

This is a proactive defense of America and its citizens with the goal that they can live each day without the threat of a terrorist attack looming. And its being fought on foreign soil to keep the danger out of our backyards.

You can bet if it was being fought here every one of those whiners would be in line to get a gun and protect their own property and families.

Rant over.
