Your kids, too. Unless they're some freak of nature throwback who doesn't watch TV, go to movies, listen to music, etc, etc, etc.

We were ALL influenced by the pop culture of our day - there's no reason to believe that this generation is somehow different, especially when there evidence is right there.

 Their voices suck, their music sucks, their music is too political and I could sell more albums than them. How the eff did they get album of the year?
It's their reward for slamming Bush a couple of years ago

Brainwash is such a harsh term, influence is fine and I can accept that...

I agree 100%. If they didn't bash Mr. Bush, nobody would buy their albums.

Carrie Underwood is the best country-music artist, hands down.
Ahh come on. Not that many people bought the CD compared to their other 2. They do not suck as vocalists, Maines has a great voice, their songs aren't bad either. Their uppity biatch attitude does suck, so I didn't buy this CD.

have to agree, I always liked them. Never cared for 99% of most peoples opinions on politics, so just ignored that part.

They've had one good song: Traveling Soldier. Of course it was released to try to draw a parallel between Vietnam and Iraq, not to be patriotic.

Because you don't have to be a RedNeck to vote for a county group to win the Grammy's.

Funny that they are so much more popular than Bush now.

LOS ANGELES - The Dixie Chicks completed a defiant comeback on Sunday night, winning five Grammy awards after being shunned by the country music establishment over the group’s anti-Bush comments leading up to the Iraq invasion. The Texas trio won record and song of the year for the no-regrets anthem “Not Ready to Make Nice.” They also won best country album, which was especially ironic considering that the group says they don’t consider themselves country artists anymore.

“I’m ready to make nice!” lead singer Natalie Maines exclaimed as the group accepted the album of the year award. “I think people are using their freedom of speech with all these awards. We get the message.”

Carrie Underwood's far better than the Dixie Chicks. I think they won based off a political message.

Personally, I'd love to go one-on-one with Natalie :boxing:

People have spoken, Bush popularity is down in the low 30's or even high 20's. You folks in SOMD are in the minority of people who approve of Bush.

Spoken like the true, arrogant b!tch she is! No Natalie, the people have not spoken -- your record company has. :smack:

Grammy Awards Voting Process

The process begins with members and record companies submitting entries, which are then screened for eligibility and category placement. The Academy's voting members, all involved in the creative and technical processes of recording, then participate in (1) the nominating process that determines the five finalists in each category; and (2) the final voting process which determines the GRAMMY winners......link

Hey, they were plenty popular with the country crown BEFORE they slammed Bush. It wasn't until after their political views were known, that all of the sudden nobody wanted to hear their music, they were blacklisted by just about all the country stations..

Oh how the tide has turned! 'tis sweet music indeed!

Your mouth runs like a ducks ass. Traveling soldier was on the "Home" CD and was realeased in 2002. The Iraq invasion was in 2003.

They have had several great songs and Natalie Maines despite being a huge ass has a great powerful voice.
