Just a note about the mold/ mildew question. Remember those humidifers that we used as kids that sprayed out a mist of water....Those were the ones that were found to cause the mold. They were, in fact, not good for much of anything but making the carpet wet. The evaporative kind(like I have) have no mist what so ever. I can't even tell how it goes through so much water with out so much as causing a chill to the plant I have hanging above the one in the living room. I go through about 1.5 gallons of water a day in the winter. I love them.....
I also love my fountains.. I have a rock collection(yeah I know I am cool)and have basically erected an alter on my cupboard in the living room..It's LOVELY and very Fung Schway(*sp, I know but its 4am for God's sake)
