Chill out man... You saw he started the thread but you had to read it anyway. If someone bothers you that much, ignore them. Then they won't be a bother. And for Gawds sake, get a sense of humor. Life is to short!! :peace:
:yeahthat: I don't care if it was Bozo the clown, I'll mark them as an idiot if they are one. Perhaps not an idiot throughout life, but in that situation, clearly so.

Agreed my hind sight is pretty damn good too.
Ummmm.... you don't need "hind sight" to see a damn 13KV power line over the area you're erecting a metal tent. In fact, the wooden power pole is clearly visible in one of the pics. :bonk: :stooges: :shortbus:

I have seen the photos too. I have been in contact with folks that were in the area after the accident. The photo does not give a viewer the ability to judge distance. The tent was not set up under the line but obviously to damn close. Flame away with the Karma.

I've waited and waited but nothing, not one post about the children. Sure it's tragic that these men died in a tarded manner no less, however, would you want these same men looking over your children? Tragic, yes but it could have been a helluvalot worse with seeing the consequences already delivered. Almost all accidents can be prevented (mostly with common sense), remember that.

Thanks for the lecture. That is really funny coming from a college kid. Make sure you heed your own advice .

I guess that is why the Boy Scouts came out with a statement about the way that tent was being setup under a power line was wrong and is against the way Boy Scouts of America asks tents to be setup.

It definitely is clear the Troop leaders from AK screwed up and paid a high price. I don't know if overhead power lines are used in Alaska or not ? Maybe someone that has traveled there knows ? I can't imagine that their entire distribution system is beloww ground. Good morning to you mix.

BL, almost all of your posts are dragging these guys over the coals for their idiocy, lack of common sense and now retardation. Have you ever screwed up a credit card entry at SFW? They have chosen volunteer work that involves a lot more responsibility than stocking food and therefore a screwup is a major screwup and they paid the ultimate price for it. It has been shown that the BSA has an extremely good safety record and I would bet you a bag of Giant Food groceries that they will learn much from these 4 guys lapse of basic BSA rules and common sense and nothing like this will happen again. I agree with Mikeinsmd that Bonehead has pushed the limit in excusing these scout leaders but they don't deserve your excess in the negative direction. When and if you become a parent, will you thoroughly investigate every single person that you will have caring for your child? I doubt seriously if you would find anything big against these 4 scout leaders. (only a guess). Maybe we should eliminate the Boy's and Girls Club, BSA and all the church groups that provide outings and just hide our kids at home to play video games?

Agreed, sorta.

Yes, and I was an idiot given the circumstances at the time just like these men were idiots given the circumstances at the time.

As far as parenting is concerned the answer unfortunately would be no to investigating every single person, that is absurd. However, should we completely disregard this accident and all that may have happened? I think not. Like I said "Almost all accidents can be prevented (mostly with common sense), remember that."

That about the type of response that I would expect from someone like you. You met my expectation. Keep up the important task of keeping the azz paper stocked.
