Hurricane Milton

We're far from being over the effects of Helene, and now there's Milton to worry about. Estimates predict a gulf coast Florida landfall as a major storm.

A shift of 3-5 degrees in the next 36 hours adds a bit more entertainment for the East coast.
The outer banks has had serious over-wash & erosion this year!

I really hope this one doesn't hit the same area. 50 miles west of me really took a hit in Crystal River, here inland pretty much a warm weather nor'easter and not that much rain.
It's a damn shame Dementia Joe doesn't give a flying phuck about those people. Remember how they scalded Bush because of those poor coloreds that didn't evacuate because of chocolate mayor and the busses?
Sad part is when I lived in the wilderness I got to know these people. Went through Erwin, Maggie Valley and Asheville a couple times a month enroute to Cherokee. Except for the back woods meth heads they were the nicest group I ever met. Hate to see them being wiped out with little help.

YouTuber mechanic I watch (Rainman Ray) had video of his trip out to Anna Maria Island just after the last hurricane came thru. It was a mess. They aren't ready for another direct hit. Lots of other videos out there on this island too.

I have family in Crystal River. I'm concerned again about them.

This guy has some real words of wisdom regarding the panicking and media hype. Don't necessarily agree with his course of recommended actions. I feel, based on the total devastation of NC and lives lost, people should be packing and leaving now, calmly. it's only replaceable possessions being left behind. Not worth a life.

Crabcake has reported that they are far enough inland and they are going to ride it out.

I just spent the best few days at Clearwater Beach last month. It's a gorgeous area, and whenever I visit my nieces in Lakeland, I make the trip out there a couple of times if I can. My sister's last visit to a beach was Clearwater, so it's got a special meaning for me. This is heartbreaking to watch them have to go through this again so soon. :bawl:

My nieces are really very nervous about this one - the younger 2 are an hour inland in Lakeland, and the oldest is in Orlando, but still.

It should keep going ENE out to sea. However, A CAT 3 or 4 as it is expected to be will cause significant problems I hope folks are smart enough to take their kids and pets and get out of the way.
