I had 2 offers... one came in last minute today.

The first one... I tried to negotiate for a better salary, but the guy was firm. And I didn't really want the job. It wasn't a good fit.

The 2nd one came in at 2:30 today. I negotiated it in about 20 minutes, and I sent back a signed copy of the offer a few minutes ago.

I'm going home. To my family. To my old college town. To my buddies. To my future wife.

And it's about time.

But I want to have a forum gathering before I go.... to say farewell.

Oh, and tomorrow, I'm flying to Italy for a week.

Congrats C!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The way housing prices here are, you can sell your place, bank 100K and still pay CASH for the new place.

I am happy for you. You've been working towards this for a long time.

Thanks everyone.

Even though I asked for realtor recommendations a while back, I ended up going back to my old realtor. As a repeat customer, she offered to sell it at 4.5%, unless a buyer goes directly to her, and she would sell it at 3%.

I've got a lot of work to do.
When I get back from Italy, I'm going to have the house powerwashed and cleaned. Then I have about half a house left to pack, hire a mover, rent a storage place in Indiana, turn off utilities, etc., and all that crap.

Which reminds me. Anyone got any recommendations for a halfway-cross-the-country mover? I'll already have 90% of it packed. Just need someone to come, pick up the boxes, and drop them off at the storage place.
