Did you see the woman on the news this morning who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer? She's from the area, a widow, and being treated at Bethesda Naval Hopsital. Apparently her doctor and surgeon were deployed to aid with the hurricane relief and she only found out by going for her appointment. So, she was blaming the administration for her lack of care because they could have been better prepared and she says she's not getting the care she needs. After her little interview, a hospital spokesperson said the hospital has plenty of stafff available and while true that this woman missed her appointment, she was quickly rescheduled (like all the patients) and is receiving the same care.
UFB!

I'm not so worried about those who are down there b*tching and moaning now than I am about how this could have been prevented 15-20 years ago even.

"We must ... come to terms with the ugly truth that skin color, age and economics played a deadly role in who survived and who did not," Dean said.
Indeed, it is quite glaring that the financially lofty, black Mayor of New Orleans (a Dem., by the way) cared little for the predominantly-black residents of the projects -- those whom were most susceptible to Katrina's onslaught.

Democrats have always had language issues. They like to pretend words mean something other than what the dictionary says they mean so they'll have something to get hopped up about.

Well, I wouldn't exactly say flee.... more like "One who gets booted out after being too dumb to go in the first place and then goes in search of a handout, as in times of hurricanse, poor construction below sea level, or real/imagined racial persecution."

Something like that.

Yeah, I know, off topic.

I don't suppose your name is on the list to provide housing for one of these families.

No, I already gave what I could to the ARC. My purse is open to the poor, but against the poor individual it is necessarily closed.

(also forgot to add :sarcasm: to the above post - this is just too vast to EVEN have an opinion on one way or the other)

Actually Catt, I think its soo terrible all the homeless animals... and the picture they keep showing of this one house under water and the golden retriever still staying there by the house... and being a good dog and not leaving the yard, etc... like he's just sitting there waiting for his owners :bawl: he's not too phased by all the water and the flood, etc... he's just sitting there at the house and waiting and being a good dog :bawl:

By George... I think you've nailed it Dems!!! The entitilement class folks are acting exactly like that golden retriever! That dog grew up being told that he/she had to stay in a particular area, and received food from it's owner and a floor to sleep on. Now that the owner is gone the dog lacks any initiative or determination to deviate from what it's grown up with, so it just sits there waiting for the owner to come home and make things right. That's exactly what these entitlement class folks are doing. They're used to staying in the same place, and being fed by their masters, and they're waiting for the master to come home, feed them, and tell them everything is ok.

Why don't you go and muster up some of your fellow Democrats, grab up some leashes and raid Al Gore's Mom's cupboard for some of that dogfood she eats in order to afford her prescription drugs, and head on down to the Big Easy and help your "dogs" out.

but doesn't poor people make up a "group" of the poor?
he's saying that he'll donate to a group but will not adopt out a single person and be in charge of their well being.

Now, is your name on that list for an open home or not?
