I heard a blurb on the radio on the way home about a man arrested for child sex abuse. It breaks away to commercial only to return and announce the name of my old neighbor, friend and most importantly the husband of of my childrens old day care provider. I had to pull over I was so freaked out.

My kids stopped going to daycare there almost two years ago. My two youngest were in that daycare from birth to ages 7 & 8. My oldest who is almost 18 was there for daycare from 3rd grade through sixth.

To top it all off he's been a substitute teacher for 1.5 years now, retired military and he's substituted and my younger kids school at least two dozen times that I know of. I am so in shock right now.

I agree but I am still shocked. He and his wife have a daughter that age and I am reaching out on a limb here and thinking maybe it was a girlfriend the daughter had over. I told my oldest and she as she has always just hung out with the daughter. They have been friends for 10 years. I would have never thought twice about my kids being safe in their home.

The wife is a licensed daycare provider and an imigrant from another country. He gets military retirement for a chief I believe and works part time at the schools. The wife earns the money with the daycare though and I am pretty sure they have or will shut that down until all is sorted out.

Huh? He has a daughter that age and is a substitute teacher in a high school. Come on, even if she looked 17 it would still be gross and illegal.
If she threw herself at him he is still the adult and should have stopped it.

No, all I'm saying is claims are made all the time that turn out to be false.

I haven't seen a case in Southern Maryland where a person has been ARRESTED for a sex offense and it not be true.

You are right...false reports of this crime are prevelent..but the police do a good job of weeding them out!

True. To go as far a make the arrest, I'm sure there was pleanty of evidence. I actually would believe that there are pleanty of times that it did happen yet not enough evidence to persue a charge, thus no arrest.

I know I've seen at least one case recently if not more where girls lied and ruined some dudes life :shrug: So, yes.
