I cannot believe people!

I am a firm beleiver in adopting 'unwanted' animals.

I had a dane (my Maggie Moo passed a couple months ago) that I had rescued thru MAGDRL. Awesome people, awesome dog.
I have a coonhound that had been given to someone who tied him to a door for 10 months because he 'constantly barked' all he wanted was to be with people. He is my baby.
Two of my 3 cats are from Charles County Humane, the 3rd was semi feral when I got her after being abandoned by her 'owners'. My girls ROCK.
Even my horse was a rescue from a PMU farm in Canada, she is the love of my life.

At this point I beleive I have reached my quota of animals allowed at my house. But when I am ready, shelters and rescues are the ONLY way I plan of getting furry friends for the rest of my life.

Princess of Mean
Small Novel here:

All of my dogs are rejects:

Otto, 9 year old doxie, given to me by a girl who's husband had just dumped her and their baby and she was moving back to Louisana.

Buddy, shepherd golden mix, a SOMD reject, given to me by a girl who was moving across country and didn't want him because he licked the baby too much.

Dolly, dachshund coonhound mix, adopted from DRNA (dachshund rescue north america) rescued from the pound after she'd given birth to a litter of puppies, all of which were adopted immediately and no one wanted the mommy. I did. She was in PA.

Grrrrrrt, senior doxie, rescued from the pound in Norfolk VA.

Izzy Wartzburg, senior terrier poodle mix, rescued from the pound in Norfolk VA, died from kidney failure after one year. God I miss him.

Austin, long haired dachshund, VA Bch pound rescue. Got his head chomped at the dog park and lost the use of one eye from that experience.

Darwin, A supposed dachshund aussie collie mix with absolutely no dachshund whatsoever in him. Pound find in Kansas.

Pearl, a walker coon hound, dropped off in my yard after owners were moving to California and couldn't take her with.

Dexter, terrier mix, Waveland MS pound find. Conditions so terrible I couldn't stand not to take at least one.

Scooter Pie, senior doxie mix. So cute on petfinder, dropped off by his owners at the Humane Society in Mississippi because they no longer had any time for him. Mouth full of rotten teeth.

Daisy May, Scooter's sister, Westie terrier mix, dropped off at the HS with a bowel obstruction and would have died that weekend had I not adopted her. Didn't go up there to get 2 dogs, but she looked so sad. She should be sad, she was dieing. E-vet visit, taken to my AWESOME vet here and 5 days in the hospital she pulled through.

Dusty, a dachshund beagle mix. Found him running around the base (middle of nowhere Mississippi) He had heartworms, and after fighting bravely for a month, could no longer go on, and had to be put to sleep one month ago today. I only had him a month, and the hole he's left in my soul is bottomless.

Yep, I live my life in the company of 10 dogs, and managed to move with 5 dogs. People who can't move with one make me sick. They don't deserve the love of a dog. People have let me down endlessly throughout my life. My dogs never have. I am a better person for having them in my life. I'm just a human, yes. But they're never "just a dog" to me.

We have 10 dogs, 2 cats and a bunny. All of ours (except the puppies) are rejected misfits or were just considered unadoptable.

Daisy, a lab pitbull mix. At 10 weeks old she was left to fend for herself on the streets of Baltimore. A friend found her and called us. She's 11 now and the most loyal of the pack.

Buddy, a rotti mix found late one night on route 4. He had no social skills at all and would attack anything that moved. He still has some issues with other dogs but he's just a teddy bear with people. He's also around 11 now.

Bowie, a pitbull dalmation mix. She was rescued from Bowie, MD. I couldn't stand seeing her in a cage and after many months of trying to adopt her, she came to live with us. I adopted her from the Humane Society. She's also 10 or 11.

Max, a collie mix. His time was up at the shelter. I got the call from Tri County saying he was hours away from the needle. Just a fuzzy love bug if you ever saw one. 8 years old.

Frenchie, french bulldog mix. Another problem child from the Calvert Humane Society. Would try to kill any animal he came in contact with and some people. After being brought back 4 times for biting people, I had enough. It took a long time getting him socialized but, he's the only dog we can trust around the puppies from last winter. He even sleeps with one of the cats and loves the rabbit.

Weazel, a rat terrier mix. He was left in a backyard after the people moved away. He's a puppy mill dog who was thrown in the yard to fend for himself. Then, they left him. He's maybe 1 year old and is glued to my hip.

Sadie, beagle mix. Found at the dump, skin and bones, you know her story. She's estimated at 5 to 6 years old.

Bella, Freckles and Sasha, 3 of her 4 pups. 9 months old this week.

Sonny and Trouble, our 2 cats. Sonny is an orange tabby found in a crate at 7 weeks old. Trouble is a longhair tiger found on the street in the Ranch club at 8-10 weeks old. they're both 11ish now.

Carney, 6 year old house bunny. Rescued from a litter of snake food. She gets along with all the other animals in the house. She drives the beagles crazy but still gets along with them.

They all have issues in one way or another but we love them all and they know it.

If you haven't guessed I'm Wharf Rats wife. :howdy:

It's not often I get to see someone else with 10 dogs. You're pretty freakin awesome yerself! At least mine are mostly mentally stable and not out to eat people. Hump people yes, but not bite....except for Austin who has a Napoleon complex.

I tried to adopt through them but they wanted us to jump through so many hoops, I'M TRYING TO SAVE THIS DOGS LIFE, it was like a 6 month process with them to even get a house visit. I ended up adopting my dog from tri-county, very energetic, he was only a few months old when we got him and was off the wall, not house broken, and didn't listen. We've had him for 4 months now, all his bad habits are gone, though he does love a good flip flop to chew every now and again. Looks like he will be with us for a long time. He joined a family of 3 other rescued dogs and a rescued cat.

My Sweetest Boy
This is our newest little girl...Chloe. She is the last one of the kittens from the orphans I took in on July 4..they were all very sick and she weighed 6 ounces. She's still a little girl but she is the sweetest little baby. We were able to place the other two and I just kept getting strange people answering the ads, so I decided to keep her.

And, as you can see, she's almost a double of my very favorite little Jennie Girl, who I sadly lost a few months ago.
