"State of the Sport", a.k.a. the announcement of the final nail in NASCAR's coffin, will be on Thursday at 1pm EST. NASCAR.com will have it and I imagine FOX Sports 1 will carry it.

Damned glad to meet you
More emphasis on winning huh? Eliminations huh?

Cool, lets go for it. You don't have a chance to win? You're eliminated, and I mean park your ####!

16 car chase? Cool, only 16 cars start. If you're eliminated, park your ####!

I would watch a 4 car shoot out for the Championship. If you're eliminated, park your #### because you don't have any business being on the track!

Vote for new commish

So if Dippy is done, I guess we need to vote for a new commisioner? :duel:
I want to cast the first vote for HD20.
He seems to keep things going as it is.

What was your incentive before? Car racing or how they kept score?

The racing - even then I've been losing interest. The Chase sucks. The Car of Tomorrow sucks. Gen 6 sucks. 1.5 mile boring ass cookie cutter ####show tracks suck. Indianapolis sucks. Restrictor plate racing sucks. Martinsville, Bristol Phoenix and the two road courses (which used to be the two most boring races on the calendar) are the only races worth watching and NASCAR and company have already found a way to ruin Bristol.

There's no strategy anymore because the tires are rock hard and don't wear down. And whenever there is a good strategy racing going, NASCAR ruins it with a bull#### mystery debris caution. Every now and then a race accidentally breaks out. I watched 40 good races at real racetracks (or as dumbass HD20 calls them, "Boring Ass Short Tracks") in between the good NASCAR races and the best NASCAR race of the year was ironically at Martinsville which I was at.

Changing the points system doesn't fix the car, it doesn't fix the fact that NASCAR "stock cars" are racing at enormous tracks built for open wheel IndyCar racing and it doesn't fix the boring ass emotionless robot drivers.

Mine was that the National Association of Stock Car Racing actually raced stock cars.

The cars going round the track were slightly modified versions of the car I could walk into a dealership and buy.

You mean the car you buy now gets more than four miles per gallon in gas and can't go 210 mph?

When I do watch auto racing, I like Formula 1, Can Am, and just plain sports car racing. NASCAR is only interesting when I'm intoxicated.

I mean, oval track racing: doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result. The definition of insanity, or so I'm told.

It's not the same thing over and over. Jimmie Johnson's only won six of the last eight championships, not all eight.

NASCAR can change the points system all they want but it's still not going to prevent Jimmie Johnson from breaking the almighty Dale Earnhardt's record.

I think they should change to an American Idol format where the fans vote on who gets in the chase and who wins it.

Who knows maybe Danica will get naked to win the chase.

They should let the fans vote on how the points are reset. While at it, they should have inversions in every race with 10 laps to go and let the fans vote live on how many cars to invert. Oh, wait, they're already doing that for the Busch Clas... er, Sprint Unlimited.

I like the "win and you're in" idea. I'd rather them have a 36 race chase with 43 drivers though aka the old points system which wasn't broke and didn't need to be fixed.

By the way, this is all mild compared to the things I'll have to say tomorrow when Brian France sticks the final nail in the NASCAR coffin tomorrow. If you look to the southeast (or in HD's case, due north) and see a mushroom cloud, that's my head exploding.

I thought you were done - finished. Then you say look to the SE and look for your mushroom cloud-head exploding.

Now you say every race matters - AARRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!

I say look to the deep SE, where most of the races and the biggies are held, and NASCAR SUCKS under the current improved format, just like it did the last seven years or so under the old format.

Left turns are very boring. Left turns with identical cars are painful to watch. Thus explains more people watching Woods get eliminated, thus explaining why reduced viewership and attendance at/for NASCAR will continue.

Also, Patrick is a nice looking gal that has not won squat and will not, but she is nothing to write home about, except maybe for those swamp people and loggers.:buddies:
