Ahole cops hate us all
"On the evening of Friday, Feb. 23, I was driving to a local bar. Once I discovered I had a flat tire, I parked my car at DJ’s gas station, off Route 5. After my friend gave me a ride to the bar, I later returned with my boyfriend and friend, so that I could retrieve my car after these two young men replaced my tire.
We all noticed a parked county police car with an occupied officer in the abandoned parking lot, and were relieved to have what we thought would be his help and protection. Upon driving his car past my vehicle and my friend’s truck, the policeman simply stretched his neck, strolled across the parking lot, and drove away.
Aside from the fact that the remaining citizens had no gloves or hats, limited light, and no protection on a windy winter’s night, we had also been wrongly treated.
It seems that some local county cops aren’t interested in the good will and safety of their communities, but rather selfishly satisfied with their success of ticketing and arresting local citizens. I thought, under these circumstances, the officer is required to ask the victims if assistance was needed or at the least, shine his spotlight on the immobile vehicle so that the vulnerable young adults could perhaps see what they were dealing with.
I’m thankful for the help I was given from these two great guys, Stoney Buckler and David Bennsky Jr.; however, I’m appalled by the behavior of certain local police officers.
I hope the sheriff of St. Mary’s County identifies this problem, and for the sake of local safety (not to mention common courtesy), discovers the proper manner to best deal with this inexcusable behavior displayed by his local police units."
