those committees are appointed by elected officials, so those cities/towns will be made up of people that the voters want to oversee the police in their communities. Here in SMC, I would like to think our commissioners have not appointed those demographics that you mentioned, but more sensible people who know how to consider all the facts presented to them before making any rash judgements. But of course, here in SMC, we hopefully elect sheriffs who don't condone this sort of behavior to begin with so the accountability board should never see these cases.

Better than cameras, anyway. Real fines, real points, real deterrence.

by the way, the old "blue," "I didnt see nuthin, I was in the bathroom" stereotype is antiquated. The thought now is, "I aint goin down witcha brutha".

Yet every year we see the same behavior. One or more officer witness illegal behavior and not only dot report it, they write reports that plainly contradict the bodycam or other camera footage.

And again, its not just the officers with them, its the departments and cities and towns they work for.

I have a plan for that, put the police substations in the schools. They have personnel on hand for emergencies and the kids get to know the cops as real people, not just the guy that dragged uncle Ben away. Too many times people aren’t seen as people just as objects of wrath.
